Career Action Plan and Self Reflection Introduction: In this modern era of business where all the organizations and companies are looking for development and better approach for reaching the customers in an effective way (Kotler, 2011). The competition is high, and the competitors are active and focused in looking for the opportunities. There is a vital role of marketing in all companies of the world whether it is a disability trust, social welfare or manufacturing company. Marketing is a mixture of many elements; it is the responsibility of a marketing manager to introduce and create a positive image of the product in the mind of all customers. At this present day, when internet marketing is considered a necessity, not an advantage it is considered the basic requirement of marketing strategy and a source of introducing a company worldwide. The key competency required to be a marketer is to be the generator of ideas out of the limitations. Individuals with skills and knowledge are valuable and appreciated in the company. Marketing is the idea of reaching out the customers worldwide with better strategies (Pride, 2006). Personal Analysis As a marketer of this modern era, marketers have to think out of the boxes and limitations. Marketing is all about creativity. A different strategy for a new product or service can attain greater attention from valuable customers. A good marketing strategy can play an incredible role in achieving a positive image in the eyes of the customer (Hoffman & Bateson, 2010). It is the point where the marketer is considered to have brilliance in his sector of a job. To be specific, marketing is all about creating a valuable and positive image in the mind of potential customers. After graduating from school with specializing in marketing, students are considered to be creative. They are required to have enough potential to think and create new techniques of marketing by thinking out of the box and limitations. To be able to think out of the limitations, one needs to be attentive to the surroundings. It is necessary for the marketer to be the best communicator as the job requires customer dealing (Fill, 2002). A marketer should possess good communication skills either verbally or non-verbally. On the other side, a marketer should be able to understand gestures of customer (Ang, 2014). Information Technology is playing a vital role in marketing sector as the potential customers are approached by using the internet. A marketer should possess wide knowledge of information technology. The competition is growing rapidly, and the companies require those who possess valuable marketing techniques. Gap Analysis As a marketer, one needs to be a good communicator and influencer in order to sell the product and services to the potential customers. He needs to create a positive approach to reach out the potential customers worldwide. A person qualified and having the specialization in marketing is considered a valuable employee of any company. A good marketer is an expert that comes from experiences and working in the environment. Marketer is the one who has wide knowledge of marketing competition, and he knows where he stands and belongs in the market (Hughes & Fill, 2003). A marketer is a critical thinker who thinks beyond the limitations. He creates the best approach possible to reach out the potential customers all around the world. Marketing is necessary for all companies or organizations whether it is disability trust or a manufacturing organization. An expert marketer possesses wide knowledge and modern techniques of gathering people on one platform. In order to introduce a new product in the market, marketer has to sketch the future competition and act accordingly (McDonald & Payne, 2006). Marketing requires experience to be an expert in this important field. To further develop and progress I need to focus and learn more on the techniques of marketing. Keeping an eye on the surroundings is also helpful in discovering new strategies and new ideas in marketing. A good marketer is made up of experiences. As I work in a diverse environment, I possess wide knowledge of dealing with different people, which helps me in generating new ideas (Paley, 2006). Career Action Plan I see myself working in a marketing department and want to progress further in it. As I have worked in a diverse environment, I am highly adaptable to the environment. Good communication skill is the basic requirement that I have by the jobs and experiences of my life. Marketing is everywhere in the world, and every business requires marketing experts. Commercial awareness is another factor that plays a vital role in the success of any business. It takes a lot of work, efforts, and experiences to be able to develop commercial awareness. One cannot develop commercial awareness overnight (Stoakes, 2013). There are several companies hiring for the profession of marketing, but these companies get ten times more job applications. The Human Resource department has to identify and hire those who are better qualifying for the job (Mathis, et al., 2013). The very first step towards accomplishment of goal is to get a suitable job and to qualify for the job; a candidate is expected to think out of the box and generate ideas of putting the product into the hands of customer. It takes good communication skills, self-confidence, and better knowledge to get the job (Elearn, 2009). I work as a support worker in disability trust from year 2000 to my present job description. The life of a worker in this environment is hard. In order to succeed in this environment, a disability trust worker has to possess the passion and the wide range of communication skills (Baglieri & Shapiro, 2012) which is the basic requirement to be a marketer. Marketing department requires good communication skills and knowledge, and I see my future bright in this department within next few years. Apart from that I am a qualified person as I have done National Vocational Qualification at level 3. I have wide and broad knowledge in the wide variety of contexts. I am highly adaptable to the environment and able to manage complex business issues. Presenting an idea in a good way is the job of an expert marketer. A marketer is the true forecaster of future events and plans accordingly in order to take advantages from the future events.
