Blog post Affiliation Blog post Simple ways to conserve the environment The attention and focus of the world resources on environment conservation comes at a time when the world’s resources are overwhelmed and overexploited. The message of environmental conservation is therefore a global issue that has necessitated urgency in terms of focus and consideration. Despite the numerous attempts and efforts to conserve the environments very little is achieved. Although we are at pains to explain why this is so I think the only way to achieve the recovery of our exploited resources and conservation of the depleted resources can best be achieved by going back to the basics. Sustainable use of resources This is one of the simple methods that I would recommend as a priority in an effort to conserve the environmental resources. The reason behind the depletion of our resources is the failure to replenish the stocks of the resources that we use. Take for instance the cutting down of trees for timber or any other justifiable reason, much as this may not be wrong the problem arises when the trees are cut down but not replaced. Picture a scenarios where if one tree is cut down then replaced by three young seedling. The outcome is forests will never be empty fields and the issues of desertification will never arise. Conservation therefore can be achieved only through the sustainable utilization of resources and that is the only way to keep our resources available to us throughout (Li, 1996). Having a sense of responsibility The realization that we are the owners and benefactors of the resources available to us should give us a sense of responsibility with regards to utilizing and managing them. Dumping of waste material everywhere has a significant effect on the natural resources such as the soil, water and even the life of animals in the soil. This affects the quality of life of human beings either directly or indirectly and despite the negligence we are the ones who suffer in the long term. This is why I feel that owing ht environment and feeling responsible for the resources within the environment is key to helping us conserve the environment. Cutting down of trees for instance is a direct way to invite desertification and alteration of rainfall patterns. Appreciating this therefore help us take responsibility and work to conserve the environment. Co-management of the natural resources Natural resources are community resources and therefore owned communally. This means that the utilization and conservation of such resources is the responsibility of the community at large and not just a few individuals. As such the only way to achieve good results with regards to environmental conservation is to make it a community effort with each and every stakeholder having a unique and relevant role to play towards the conservation and sustainable resource utilization efforts. The element of co-management should be about the synchronization of the community efforts towards natural resource conservation and utilization allowing everyone a chance to take part in the exercise that is meant to benefit all the participants. Conclusion Not much can be achieved when the conservation issues are made to be boardroom discussions without involvement of the people on the ground. The issues of conservation require very largely the input of the resource users who have an actual feel of the issues and challenges in dealing with the resources. This is why I recommend the simple basic approach to conservation rather than the executive approach of men in suits in boardrooms. Blog post 2 The role of eco-friendly products in conservation of natural resources The issues of environmental degradation and the depletion of the environmental resources is down to the increased pressure on the natural resources by the ever increasing human population. This points out to the fact that that most urgent remedy to the efforts towards salvaging our natural resources is finding ways of averting the human pressure on the natural resources. To achieve this therefore the invention of alternative products to use rather than the natural products has been the way to go with numerous products already in the market to help with this. Pressure on the fuel resources has been averted by the introduction of alternative forms such as use of gas while other sectors such as fisheries have eased pressure on natural water bodies and capture fisheries by introducing aquaculture. All their efforts are aimed at easing the utilization pressures on the natural resources. All these have led to the development of a group of products known as the eco-friendly products such as the electric cars, use of gas and even the e-cigarettes. The roles of such products include: Ease pressure on natural resources The state of the natural resources of the world is wanting because of the overdependence on the limited resources by the human population. That is why some resources are depleted while others are in dire state requiring urgent intervention. In an effort to save the existing natural resources it is necessary to divert the energy focused on overexploiting these resources by introducing an alternative. This is where the eco-friendly products such as the use of electric cars some in. the invention of the electric car was aimed at reducing car emissions into the atmosphere which are responsible for the formation of the ozone layer and subsequently global warming. Provide safer products The introduction of some eco-friendly products are not only conservation sensitive but also safer for use on the human body as well. Eco-friendly products are meant to help conserve the environment but the bonus is that they are also tailored to reduce harm on the human body. Take for instance products such as the e-cigarette which was developed to reduce the chemical emission in the atmosphere but is also safer on the body (Gibson, 1999). This point to the fact that the eco-friendly products are helping solve very many products while achieving the ultimate goals of conserving the environment. Such products are able to avert pollution which affect the natural resources and this allows them thrive. Conserve the natural resources Conservation is achievable if the disturbance on the natural resources is minimized. However this cannot be achieved if there is no alternative product to the natural resources. This is why the introduction of eco-friendly products helps us to achieve conservation. Eco-friendly products are aimed at ensuring that the natural resources which have been depleted are replenished while those that are yet to be depleted are replenished and maintained. Everyone is encouraged to deviate from exploiting the natural resource but this is possible when there is a ready alternative for the people to use. Conclusion Eco-friendly products are an intervention that is bearing fruits with regards to the maintenance of the natural resources. However all the efforts channeled towards this should be increased to ensure that the impact of these products is felt in terms of easing the human pressure on the natural resources. In as much as sustainable utilization is encouraged, finding alternatives is the only sure way to get the best results as this will mean minimal interest and interference on the natural resources.
