Google has also been able to penetrate the mobile market and provide applications, through which mobile users are able to carry out searches, receive emails, socialize using blogs, receive alerts and edit documents among others. This means that users can enjoy all of Google’s products and services on the go. Google aims at improving the user’s experience on the internet. Through products such as Google Chrome and Android, internet users can have a simpler and faster internet experience (Google, 2014).
In creating its work culture, Google considers that it is the human aspect of the company that really determines a company’s culture. Therefore, the company puts significant efforts in sourcing for innovative, sociable and determined employees. Google places more emphasis on ability rather than a person’s experience. For this reason, Google looks at hiring its employees, referred to as Googlers, from all walks of life to ensure that the work environment is as diverse as possible. The company believes that better decision-making and innovation comes from diversity in the work place. Overall, Google has a thirty percent female workforce and hires from all races though critics have pointed out that a huge imbalance exists in Google’s ethnic workforce demographics with Hispanics and blacks only constituting five percent of the company’s employees (Google, 2014).
Google is renowned for its top-notch corporate culture. This culture is evident in various aspects at Google such as communication processes, hiring practices and management behaviour.
