One is the purpose of unions: to protect workers rights, including overtime rates and systems, employment standards, and so forth (322). It seems that there was little interest in unionization and Bloomberg, given that the removal of one person could completely derail the unionization process. This speaks to the positive employee relations that apparently exist in Bloomberg, and demonstrate why businesses should work so hard to maintain them. The current intensely competitive job market is already anti-union (which increases costs and decreases jobs), so companies who maintain good relationships with employees have little to fear.

This article also touches on the fact that the employee is trying to sue the company. If he was indeed fired for union organizing, this would be illegal (321). But the fact is that at-will employment is the law of the land, and the burden of proof would be on the employee in this case (Fortune). This means that there is very little chance the company will face any penalty or issue at all.
