Problem LCB Educational Enrichment Task Force (EETF) Re: LCB Programs to provide pre-businessand senior undergraduate students with real world business world experience. Students in the LCB require practical skills and experiences that will enable them to compete effectively in the job market. Many LCB students struggle after school due to lack of professional experience when searching for employment. There are opportunities which can be utilized by the LCB students to upgrade their chances of getting employment after school such as taking part in other activities in the learning environment other than classwork.

Such areas will help the students to add value to their knowledge by applying the principles they have learned in class in the area of corporate management. To achieve this objective, we will utilize the LCB Career Service Center to identify the programs that can help management students apply the skills they have learnt as they prepare for their prospective careers. This memo will outline the need for practical experience for the LCB management students, the programs that will deal with the need and the motive of changing the method of meeting the need.

Problem DescriptionManagement students in would have advanced knowledge in their careers by having the exposure to the practical areas and participating in environments which offer them real-life application. The undergraduate students who spend some time in practical career fields are more likely to grasp the actual representations of their career which will help them make informed decisions when choosing their major. Class work gives the students the knowledge but the field gives them the practical perspective of the knowledge learnt in class.

Practical knowledge helps students get employment faster after graduation because if experience. This is because such individuals are perceived to able to;adapt sufficiently to different environments,be innovative, solve real life problems as and when they arise. This need is met by applying the programs below. Existing Programs for practical experience The LCB Career Service Center provides programs efficiently designed to provide pre-business management students with practical skills in their career field so that they are able to make wise career choices.

Clubs and Campus GroupsSome clubs in the university help business students gain the experience of the practical world in the business sector. Such clubs are Alpha Kappa Psi and Beta Alpha Psi. Joining these clubs would give students the exposure they need to familiarize with the practical world. Job ShadowThis program helps Pre-Business students in making decision for selection of their majors although those already accepted in their major can also use it to increase their chances of employment after graduation.

Here, students spend time with a professional from their fields of interest so that they can understand the job well from the practical perspective. Internships for UnderclassmenLCB Career Services provide internship opportunities for senior students who are about to graduate. It provides both international and local internship opportunities to seniors and undergraduates who are interested in gaining experience. Internship opportunities provided are mostly limited and only few students are featured.

Need for the new approach Due to the inadequate opportunities for the LCB undergraduate and senior students to get practical experience in carriers of their interest, this new approach will enable them to be prepared for the employment opportunities after graduation while increasing their chances of getting employed. In conclusion, LCB business students need to have the practical exposure to the real world of business which is far departed from their classroom experience. This will help the pre-business students wisely select their majors while the seniors get more insights into the real business world which helps them get more employment opportunities.
