Royal Planner is a newly developed event management company based in London. The organization is trying to secure its competitive position within the UK event management industry by ensuring effective strategy development and implementation process. Recently the organization is facing several workplace related issues and problems. It is true that skilled and experienced employees can be considered as important assets of an organization. Employee motivation can be considered as an important aspect that needs to be considered by an organization. Effective employee motivation can enhance the entire workplace performance as well as business performance of an organization. An organization can ensure effective employee motivation through significant leadership style of the organizational leader. In addition to this, the Royal Planner is also suffering from the workplace conflicts that have been developed due to the inadequate compensation distribution process. Several employees within the organization are trying to leave the organization due to lack of motivation and unequal compensation distribution issue. This essay will try to investigate the problem. Moreover, the essay will discuss about the problems that are facing by the organization. It is highly important for the organization to adopt and implement an effective creative problem solving model in the business operation process to overcome the process. Lastly, the organization will evaluate the usefulness of the theories of creativity in supporting the programme of recommended work. Discussion It is highly important for Royal Planner to identify the issues and problems that are affecting the business performance of the organization. The organization is facing several workplace related issues. Lack of employee motivation, inadequate payment distribution and poor leadership quality affected the business performance of Royal Planner. Parnes-Osborn’s CPS model and technique can be implemented in order to investigate the problems and issues. First of all it is highly important to identify the real issues (Abott, 1988, pp.65). It will help the researcher to adopt and implement effective and appropriate CPS Model that can help the organization to overcome the recent issues. Issues and Challenges It is clear from the above discussion that the management of Royal Planner is trying to implement change management process in order to overcome the current issues. Employee motivation can be considered a one of the important aspects for an organization. First of all, lack of effective performance appraisal affected the motivation level of the employees. It is true that the effective performance appraisal helps an organization to motivate the employees to work effectively (Bandy, 1994, pp. 1-12). In addition to his, effective and appropriate performance appraisal ensures high social recognition for the employees. In adequate leadership style is also one of the major issues that is affecting the workplace performance as well as the business performance level of the organization. It is highly important for the organizations to ensure effective leadership style to maintain good workplace environment (Anderson, 1980, p.42). Royal Planner adopted and implemented workplace diversity in the business operation process in order to enhance effective knowledge sharing process. But, the problem of conflict of ideas started to increase on daily basis due to the lack of competency of the leader. It is highly difficult to maintain a multicultural workforce quite easily. Inadequate managerial process and leadership style can create several culture conflicts and conflicts of ideas among the employees within the workplace (Barrows, 185, pp. 1-10). These types of workplace conflicts are affecting the workplace environment as well as the business performance of the organization. Compensation can be considered as one of the important motivational factors for the employees. It is highly important for the organizations to ensure effective and appropriate compensation distribution process in order to maintain high motivation level of the employees. The management of the Royal Planner failed to pay compensation and salary to the employees based on the industry standard (Barrow and Tmblyn, 1980, p.9). Therefore, the organizations are facing critical workplace issues like high employee turnover. Therefore, it is highly important for the organizations to consider the implementation of change management process by ensuring creative responses to the developed issues and challenges. Application of CPS Model For the event management company Royal Planner, in which the management and its employees are coming across with certain problems like the motivation, leadership and payment terms of the company. This type of problems is basically towards the way people react. For solving this kind of a problem different types of creative models should be used. The CPS model used in this study is the Osborn-Parces Process among the various other CPS methods (Beatty, 1992, p.12). The Osborn-Parces process is the once which is considered to have the PDCS adaptation process. This model is used for redefining the problems faced where the company can come up with new ideas and take quick actions to solve the problems. This is basically into three parts like explore the challenges, generate the ideas and then prepare for the action all the three parts are in a cycle process. This process can be categorized and the problems can be solved taking each of the points into consideration. The company management should look to find the exact problem as to where and why the employees are lagging the motivation power and how they can achieve that motivation (Boyd and Apps, 180, p.29). The management should look towards generating ideas as the problems are already been found, so in next process the ideas are to be brought up For generating an idea the company’s management needs not go through lot of thinking process as the idea needs to be a simple and effective one as the problem is mostly related to the employee satisfaction and their work motivation. The management needs to look to get the right person for the leadership of the company who can motivate the employees to work hard towards the growth of the company (Breton, 18, p.21). After coming up with the idea it is very important to go with the action and get the particular idea implemented in the ground level and see to it that the employees do accept the idea and the action being taken. The problem related to the pay of the employees can be solved easily once the company starts performing in the market and gains more share and conduct different events which will help the company to raise their revenue in the coming time which will help the company to give pay to its employees and also increase their pay over the time (Chiering, 1977, p.82). But before this they need to select a good leader who can change the whole scenario and motivate the other employees to work with full dedication. This CPS technique if followed step after step than it can help in a big way to get the employees motivated and make them feel happy with the company’s policy (Day, 2001, pp.204-215). This process of Osborn-Parnes process will help the company to over the problems that are faced by its employees and they can look to have again a good environment and find their employees working efficiently towards the particular process and the change of leader will also help it to conduct different events in a better way (Dick and Carey, 1996, p.32). Practical Suggestions Royal Planner needs to look and come up with many creative ideas conducting various events in different platforms so that they can earn maximum revenue and it will help them to solve their problems as well. Royal planner should look to conduct various award ceremonies and corporate dinners in different parts of UK in a creative way and make it big by launching it through various media platforms so that the brand image of the company is created across and it gets more events. The company needs to conduct conferences for different big companies, exhibitions like auto expo, conduct various international events across the whole country in a big way so that the company is been known by people across the country and also globally (Gagne, 1980, p.38). The company needs to conduct different creative events at different places at promote it in a wide method and also get more of word of mouth marketing from its customers. The company can also look to go for new product launches and mainly for big companies so that the launch becomes a big event and is publicly published in different media forms (Feinstein, Raab and Stefanelli, 2005, p.35). In today’s generation where people look to depend more on the media and are more attracted to various reality programs, thus the company can also look to conduct and support a complete reality program which will make them highly published in the market of UK. The company can also look to promote itself through social media and conduct various events on the social media platforms like crating a particular event in Facebook and twitter. Royal planner can also look forward towards various social events in UK which will make them well known even in the eyes of the government and also in the eyes of the people and a good public image will be created (Fayos and Jafari, 1996, p. 228-231). It also needs to have good promotion activities through which it can move into the market and also into new markets and provide the service with high quality. The company can look to conduct wedding ceremonies and different parties in the country as in UK the marriage events are been conducted in a grand way and there are many functions that do happen from time to time in a grand way (Fonstad, 2001, p.3). Royal Planner can look to brand different products with creative ideas which will create a completely different image in the market and the company will have a great impact over all other competitors. Using all these various activities royal planner can look forward towards conducting various activities in a creative manner across the country and look towards moving forward with a distinct plan and with high efforts (Fretz, 1982, pp. 15-20). The company should do the events in a highly creative and a different way from all others so that they remain completely different and are liked by the customers and this will help them a lot as word of mouth is a very important feature in an event management company’s promotion policy (Gagne, 180, p.73). These policies will help the company to grow and build a huge market share in UK. Barriers that might have to be foreseen There are three aspects in the CPS model developed by Parnes-Osborn. Objective clarification, solution development and action set up are the three aspects of CPS model. It is clear from above discussion that the organization is facing problems like inadequate workplace environment and several workplace conflicts due to the poor leadership style and inadequate compensation distribution process. It is highly important for an event management company to maintain effective relationship with the both important external and internal stakeholders to maintain sustainability in the business operation process. It is highly important for an organization to gain effective support from the external stakeholders in the strategy development process (Gagne, Briggs and Wager, 1992, p.98). Government and public regulatory bodies can be considered an important external stakeholder of the organization. The management of royal planners is facing problems in the employee motivation process. It can affect the workplace environment and business performance of the organization in several ways (Gallagher, Tepien and Roentahl, 192, pp. 195-200). First of all, it can create a negative perception in the mind of the employees and other individuals within the workplace. Therefore, possibility of legal issues can be raised against the management of the organization if the organization fails to meet the developed business ethics and organizational values. Government has the authority to take legal step against the organization if the organization fails o follow the developed employment rules and policies. Most importantly, the organization may lose the support of the valuable external stakeholders if the management of Royal Planner fails to motivate the employees and maintain strong business ethics in the workplace practices (Goldblatt, 2004, p.12). Leadership can be considered as an important process that can help the management of an organization to guide an entire team towards the developed objective. In this case, the organizational leaders failed to ensure the high motivation level of the employees. In adequate leadership style and process can create issues lie employee poaching that can hamper the workplace performance of the organization (Hannafin, Hall, Land and Hill, 1994, pp. 48-55). Recommendations to Overcome these Barriers First of all, it is highly important for Royale Planner to clarify the objective in order to overcome the issues. Needs, information, data and objectives can be considered as important aspects to develop and clarify objectives. Appropriate clarification of the objective development process can overcome the barriers and current issues. Solution generation also can be considered as an important aspect that can help the organization to overcome the barriers. It is true that inadequate solution development may make it difficult for the management of the organization to control the entire situation. First of all, the strategy developer has to consider some criteria about the idea and solution generation process based on the nature of the issues. (Hooper, 1971, p.9) The solution developer has to consider creativity and innovation during the development of objectives and solution. Lastly it is highly important for the management of the organization to set up some effective strategic action plan in order to overcome the challenges and barriers. However, e3ffective adoption and implementation of this CPS model will help the management of Royal Planner to make innovative changes. Usefulness of Theory It is highly important for the organization to develop and implement change management process in the business operation process in order to overcome the issues. This study has developed and implemented a CPS model in the organizations to overcome the possible barriers and current issues. This theory can help the organization to give solutions to the problems quite innovatively. However, integration of creativity and innovation can help the organization to maintain recommended work process and strategies. It has been discussed earlier that the organization is facing several workplace related issues (Heppner and Peterson, 1982, pp. 66-75). Therefore, implementation of CPS model will help the organization to gain positive business outcome. This particular theory has two particular points, such as starting point and starting point. Starting point can be considered as an important aspect of this creative problem model. Strategy development effectively depends upon the identification of issues, developed objectives and generated ideas. Therefore, it is highly important for the strategy developer to consider this particular theory to overcome the issues and gain huge success in the business operation process. Measurement and Assessment of Level of Creativity However, it has been discussed earlier that how an individual can implement the CPS model in the business operation process to overcome the current challenges and issues. It is highly important for an organization to determine the measurement of the efficiency of the implemented process. First of all, the organization should try to appoint a supervisor in order to control entire business operation activities. Business output, team co-ordination and employee’s willingness to ensure high workplace performance can be considered as the major measurement process of the efficiency of CPS model (International Hotel and Tourism Association, 1997, p.1). It has been discussed earlier that the management of the organization needs to adopt and implement change management process in order to enhance effective employee motivation aspect. It is clear that poor leadership style and inadequate business operation process of the managers and organizational leaders affected the business performance of the organization. Assessment and monitoring of the activities and performance needs to be considered by the management of the organization as it will help the management of the organization to measure the performance of the CPS model. CPS model can be considered as one of the important change management model that helps an organization to bring innovation and creativity in the new strategy development process (Jenkins and Shipmen, 1976, p.24). Effective workplace environment and positive business performance can indicates the management of Royal Planners that the organization is doing well after the development and implementation of CPS model in the business operation process. The attitude and behaviour of the employees towards their job responsibility also can help the management of the organization to assess the performance of the programme. In addition to this, the appointed supervisor should try to track the performance of the employee as effective performance management and performance measurement process will help the organization to determine the significance of the newly developed and implemented CPS model. Conclusion It is clear from above discussed fact and aspect that the Royal Planner is facing some serious workplace related problems due to lack of employee motivation, poor leadership style and inadequate compensation distribution process. Therefore, the organization is going to adopt and implement Parnes- Osborn creative problem solving method and technique in order to overcome the issues and challenges. It is the responsibility of the management of the Royal Planner to ensure an effective start point and destination point by indentifying appropriate business operation issue. First of all, it is highly important for the organization to clarify the developed objective based on the demand and available information. It can strengthen the starting point. Therefore, the organization can face limited difficulty in the solution generation process. Last but not the least; it is highly important for the organization to ensure the development of effective action plans. However, the management of the organization should try to ensure the effective measurement and assessment process of the performance of the programme s it can help the organization in future strategy development process.
