In some cases, children are vulnerable to certain adverts by virtue of being immature. Therefore, the advertisers must tailor their message in such a way that it does not negatively impact on this vulnerable group.2. Principle 4 has been often ignored by advertisers which state that advertisers should disclose all material conditions such as receipt of payment of free product as well as identity of endorsers among other issues.

Like the example given, the advert about the confectionary product is directly the opposite of what it claims. It can be seen that the advertisers are concerned about their profit oriented goals at the expense of the targeted consumers who are children.

As noted, children may not be able to make meaningful decisions on their own by virtue of their young age.
