Applying the principle to successful companies like Boeing, Toyota, Pfizer, etc., they have established their name not by magically injecting efficiency in their system, but by providing better products (capturing market share, non-IT competitive edges, price strategies, etc.). Workers must constantly learn new skills to keep up to date with changing technology (Morley 296).

2. In bullet form, list evidence that supports your opinion. Your evidence should be sufficient to fully support your opinion.
I agree with Carr and my opinion sounds in agreement with ‘IT doesn’t matter’. Here are my reasons;

• IT as a resource is ubiquitous, not scarce, which is why IT is overrated.
• The concept of IT is not new. The invention of the telephone and the typewriter were all IT inventions, so where are they now? They have been replaced by better IT technology.
• IT is just a temporary part, a gadget shines until it gets replaced by another better device.
• IT gadgets have been transformed from strategic resources to commodity products. At one time a company is proud of an IT innovation, and after a few times, it is found to be ruined by the lower middle class of society, meaning it is no longer expensive unique, or unavailable.
• Technology is always taken up by firms. A lot of investment is ready for new technology. Industries acquire technology but there is very little research as to how technology provided a competitive advantage to a certain firm. Read More
