Walmart: Which Giant Will Dominate E-commerce?What concepts in the chapter are illustrated in this case? The case study is about the E-Commerce models including business-to-business (BtoB) and business-to-customer (BtoC). Both models have been implemented by the Amazon, as the retailers, as well as they, offered many dealers to sell their products by using Amazon’s platform. Moreover, the case study explains the value chain model that helps to determine how systems can progress and improve their functional competence to get more loyal customers and supplier relationships.

The model has been employed by Wal-Mart as well as the Amazon in their businesses.Compare Wal-Marts and Amazons' e-commerce business models. Which is stronger? Explain your answer. In North America, Wal-Mart is one of the success stories of e-business. The main factors of their success can be a connection between the e-business and e-procurement and customization and standardization of internal and business processes. Wal-Mart employed supply chain management where the suppliers are managed according to the demands of the customers.

Initially, Amazon was an online store that mainly dealt with books and music. They long-drawn-out themselves quickly and introduced many more products in every segment. Additionally, Amazon developed a strategy to deal with not only (customers) Business to Consumers but also Business to Business or buyers. Moreover, Amazon became a platform, where dealers are allowed to list their products for selling. According to me and the given facts, it has been realized that Amazon’s e-commerce business model is better than Wal-Mart’s model as E-commerce is the core mission and operation.

Perhaps, the Amazon is the leader of the e-commerce as it is providing a number of features, merchandise extensiveness, custom-made suggestions, and intensity of available contents among e-commerce websites. Whereas, I don’t believe that Wal-Mart has such a business model, strategy, and features and the business as compared to the Amazon.
