Working with Teams - Assignment Example

Last year I was part of a team for a I took. The team was composed of five members. The size of the team was adequate for the tasks we had to perform. The ideal size of a work team is between three to five members (Aquila). The team decided that it was necessary to have a team leader to guide our efforts. Two of the team members volunteered to be the team leader. We put the decision to vote and choose a team leader. The team leader was responsible for assigning each team member the tasks and duties to be performed.

The mission of the team was to complete the professor’s assignment on time with a passing grade. Some of the ground rules the team established was for everyone to turn in their deliverables on time and to have two weekly meetings in which all members had to assist. All the team members complied with both rules. The work duties were divided equally. The final output consisted of writing a team paper of 2,000 words. The work was divided so that everyone had to write 400 words for their topic.

The team was very effective due to the fact that the lines of communication were always open among the team members. Working with this team was a great experience because the team cooperated with each other. Prior to turning the final product to the professor the team was able to achieve synergy.
