Starbucks Coffee Company, as a globally accepted brand, is a corporation with 5,100 total locations in the United States and worldwide (starbucks.com) while having 145,800 employees. With operations in almost thirty countries, such as the United States, Australia, Germany, United Kingdom, Singapore, and Qatar, they reported revenues of over $7.786 Billion along with net income of $564 million in the fiscal year 2006 (Starbucks Corporation). During the fiscal year of 2006, Starbucks has opened 1,040 new Company-operated stores in the United States only (starbucks.com). Along with these stores, Starbucks started operating approximately 1,600 Drive-Thru locations during the same fiscal year.

Starbucks operates in numerous countries and regions in different continents of the world. As of year 2006, Starbucks has had its stores in Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Oman, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
