Section 2: Academic Skills The perception of motivation is principally defined as a decision-making procedure which plays an imperative part in stimulating individuals to perform actions for the purpose of attaining important objectives (Schwartz, 2001). It is often considered to be a goal-directed approach which significantly initiates, maintains as well as guides objective-oriented behaviours (Mwita, 2002). The aspect of motivation involves a gathering of closely connected perceptions, values, beliefs and actions (Lai, 2011). It refers to a procedure that influences an individual to indulge in any action for the benefit of an organisation (Kumar, 2008). It is the result of an interaction between the human requirements and incentives (Tella & et. al., 2007). Finally, it is described as an eagerness to exercise high effort levels towards accomplishing desired organisational goals (The University of Oklahoma, n. d.). It has been apparent from the stated fact that numerous business organisations till date regard the factor of motivation for the employees as a crucial strategy which ultimately increases their job as well as operational performances and most importantly can often be perceived as playing a chief role in the attainment of success of a particular business (Davidson, 2011). In this regard, the different business organisations are learnt to stimulate their employees by engaging effectual motivating mechanisms which makes them more satisfied and also helps them in remaining more committed towards their respective jobs (Bruce & Pepitone, 1998). The job as well as the operational performances of the employees basically relies upon various factors which entail performance appraisals, compensation, job security, training as well as development and most significantly the factor of satisfaction and motivation of the personnel (Wicker, 2009). It has been viewed that the offerings of awards as well as recognition are considered to be the necessary factors which improves the motivation of the employees and eventually leads towards the success of a business by a large level (Shadare & Hammed, 2009). The business organisations consider the fact that well motivated as well as committed personnel are regarded to be amongst the most vital assets for them which largely contributes towards maintaining superior quality and also improving their productivity (Javitch Associates, n. d). By taking into concern the current business situation, the organisations across the globe desire to retain their working staffs by motivating them with the help of offering attractive rewards or recognition (ICAEW, 2012). The motivated workforce plays a critical role in enhancing the organisational performances as well as supports the organisation to accomplish a considerable competitive position over the chief market contenders (Mohsan & et. al., 2004). Section 3: Reflective Statement After identifying the different job positions which comprise customer service advisor, sales presenter and care assistant, it can be stated that the different employability skills suited with the aforesaid positions are believed to be quite important for the individuals to attain sustainable growth in their future career. The skills which I had mentioned in the initial section are increasingly raising my confidence in order to get engaged with any one of the mentioned job positions. If I get selected or get the opportunity to work with any one of the organisations in any job criteria, it will further help me to gather experiences along with honing my skills as well as competencies. Moreover, the engagement will even support me to learn as well as enhance different skills which comprise professional, team working, planning, decision-making, problem-solving, time management and individual working skills by a considerable level. In addition, employment in any of the job positions will certainly help me to develop intellectual and effective communication skills among others. In this context, I personally feel that this particular project has provided me the valuable information regarding the needed personal requirements for the reason of properly structuring my career. In relation to the initial section i.e. Section 1; I strongly believe that it has supported me to recognise my appropriate abilities for the CBI ‘employability skills’. It helped me to identify the assets as well as the skills that I need to improve as well as focus upon in order to increase my performance standards. It made me realise the actuality that there are certain personal attributes related to employability skills which are measured to be quite imperative in order to raise the degree of benchmark with regard to my performance. The several personal attributes include commitment, motivation, enthusiasm, reliability, hard-work, self-esteem and capability to perform under extreme pressure. Furthermore, it has structured my abilities or skills to generate a curriculum vitae (CV) suitable for the jobs that I applied for such as customer service advisor, care assistant and sales presenter. Additionally, the cover letter made me comprehend the essential fact that it would provide a good impression to the reader. Besides, Section 1 also made me understand the significance of employability skills. The notion of employability skills is quite vital because it helps an individual to perform better in the workplace along with supporting an organisation to attain its expected business objectives. Section 2 provided me with the understanding of the appropriate skills for conducting various researches and also to write a proper essay about a particular topic. The topic which I chose i.e. ‘motivated employees can be regularly seen as playing a vital part in the success of a business’ helped me to understand the importance of motivating the workforce. While researching about the aforementioned essay, I came to a standpoint which is offered increased prominence by majority of the business organisations and relates to the actuality of retaining employees by motivating them with attractive rewards as well as recognition. The organisations often intend to retain their working staffs by motivating them due to various significant reasons. The reasons include improving the operational performances of the employees, increasing the organisational performance standards, preserving dominant business position in the industry and most importantly accomplishing a strong competitive position over the major participants of the concerned business market. Moreover, while conducting the research about the topic, I understood the fact that the business organisations usually motivate their workforce because they understand that well motivated employees are considered to be the satisfied employees who plays a chief role in the success of their businesses. The organisations also believe the fact that they are the only individuals who support them to remain efficient in this current situation of increased competition in the market. Finally, I think that this particular assignment or course will really become helpful for me in my current life and also for my future. Therefore, on the basis of the above made discussions, I personally feel that I have gained as well as developed various important skills in terms of my own personal creativity and development by a large extent.
