Effects of Estrogen Plus Progestin On Health-Related Quality of life In the article en d, Effects of Estrogen Plus Progestin On Health-Related Quality of life 2003, Hays, et al imposes insightful knowledge on health related issue. Hypothesis statement: The use of Estrogen plus Progestin exposes women to adverse health complications. Background: Research on women using estrogen plus progestin indicates that they are at a health risk of contracting breast cancer and stroke. Dependent variable and independent variable relationship: the experiment on the effects of estrogen plus progestin on quality of life poses health threat to women who undergo hormone treatment since they are a risk of catching illnesses such as stroke, breast cancer and myocardial infarction among others. Problem statement: Recent research indicates that women taking progestin and Estrogen are at health risks of getting breast cancer, stroke, myocardial infarction, and venous thromboembolism compared to women taking placebo. This has promoted the use of progestin and Estrogen after a keen consideration of the health risks involved. However, women in placebo groups face critical health risks that affect even their cognitive functioning. Therefore, this research seeks to come up with effective use of hormone treatment among women with minimal side effects. In this regard, the article’s background entails Women’s health initiative with other clinic trials, which highlight the vital health risks that are associated with the combination of hormone use. The research indicated that, women taking estrogen and progestin were at health risk of getting stroke, Myocardial infarction, breast cancer, and venous thromboembolism as compared to women taking placebo. In this case, the recent findings indicated that, the protection of cardiovascular does not indicate the use of estrogen and progestin amongst the postmenopausal women. Despite the decreased risk of colorectal cancer and osteoporotic; there was a notable global risk of the hormone treatment among women. With this in mind, it was outlined that, there were Effects of Estrogen Plus Progestin On Health-Related Quality of life. At this point, this paper seeks to highlight in brief these effects. In doing this, this essay will briefly outline its’ background, statement of the problem, measurement of variables, research design, and Data collection. First, the research is evidently stated in the background of the study. In this context, the article outline various effects that from using Estrogen plus Progestin among women. This is whereby the recent findings of the several clinical trials have demonstrated that, the reinforcement of cardiovascular disease does not indicate the use of Progestin and Estrogen amongst postmenopausal women. As discussed previously, Women’s health initiative evaluated that, women taking progestin and Estrogen are at health risks of getting breast cancer, stroke, myocardial infarction, and venous thromboembolism compared to women taking placebo. These findings have prompted the use of estrogen and progestin after careful consideration of the health risks it has on individuals. In the research, randomized trials indicates that 25% of women in placebo groups have reported health related issues whereby, hormones use have been said to affect sexual functioning, depression, cognitive functioning. In the case study, findings are invariable, depending on the population, test instrument, and design. It borne in mind; small differences can be statistically essential yet clinically insignificant, particularly in large samples. The Women’s health initiative of estrogen and Progestin involving 16, 608 Postmenopausal women enhance an excellent opportunity to assess the relations of progestin and estrogen on health-related quality life and psychosocial measures in the postmenopausal women. In reality, the study is trying to show the impact of progestin and estrogen on health quality life. The research relates to modern science whereby it effectively outlines how women’s health is affected from progestin and estrogen. The study is relevance because it creates great insight on the effects of Estrogen Plus Progestin On Health-Related Quality of life. Measurement of variables Various methods are used such as study participants, Assessment of Quality life, and statistical analysis. Overall, the criteria of study participants created a platform to study participants who in this case were women. In this case, women were excluded from their last menstrual cycle for six months before they enrolled in the study. Medical investigation was done to the applicants to detect the potential probability of the effects that emerge from Estrogen Plus Progestin On Health-Related Quality of life. First, women were assigned to take the combination of progestin and Estrogen or the matching placebo pill. Overall, the results focused on the changes in measures of health issues during the first year of taking the drugs. Few differences were found in terms of physical functioning, sleep disturbances, and bodily pain. Under the assessment of quality of life, quality of life was assessed using Rand 36- Item, which included general health issues relating to Progestin and estrogen. In this case, various symptoms were assessed and among patients who used progestin and estrogen. After the evaluation, various health effects were outlined such as physical functioning, bodily pain, fatigue, mental or emotional problems, menopause symptoms, and social dysfunction. Under statistical analysis, primary focus relating to changes in health related issues were measured, and statistically there were notable differences. With no doubt; women who used the combination of progestin and estrogen were found to have changes in health quality of life. Overall, the above methods outlined several effects of progestin and estrogen on health-related quality life. For example, the main health effects include depression, sleep disturbances, sexual dysfunction, cognitive dysfunction, fatigue, bodily pain, and menopause symptoms among others. Among these symptoms, sleep disturbances is common in postmenopausal women who may alleviated from the use of progestin and estrogen (Hays et al, 1840). Research Design In reality, the research design is valid in that it outlays various effects that may emerge during different years. There are enough replicates because from each method used, the article outlines similar results. From this, it stands out that; the study is greatly organized thus, enhancing meaningful effect of progestin and estrogen on general health issues. The data collection seems ethical since it is well organized to bring adequate findings and evidences of the effects of progestin and estrogen on general health issues. Ethics Based on my perceptive, the research depicts appropriate evidences of the effects of progestin and estrogen on health issues. With this in mind, am confident of the research since it outlines these effects precisely. In conclusion, it stands out that, Estrogen plus Progestin side effects include depression, sleep disturbances, sexual dysfunction, cognitive dysfunction, fatigue, bodily pain, and menopause symptoms.
