Is global warming due to human actions and can human race take actions to stop global warming? This paper is primarily based on contemplating the issue of global warming on the grounds of the role played by humanity in increasing the incidence of global warming, while also discussing the existential possibility of any ways in which humans can acquire control over the grave consequences produced by this greatest environmental rival of all times. Facts and discussion presented in this paper are meant to illuminate the reality of the claim that “agricultural and industrial revolution, land-use change, and an increase in greenhouse gas concentrations are all such human actions which have raised global warming rate and acts like recycling, energy conservation, and tree plantation can help reduce this.

” (Drallos, 2009) lays stress on the fact that human activity has played a significant role in exponentially increasing the rate of global warming owing to the increased burning of fossil fuels and industrial emissions which increases the CO2 gas concentration in the atmosphere and this plays a direct role in increasing the Earth’s temperature. Actually, the human population has been increasing so tremendously over the past many years that there seems no apparent end to the ongoing use of land, energy, and fossils, thus environmental scientists tend to be at loss of applying any useful strategy for controlling this dramatic and urgent environmental emergency.

In the research report presented by (Drallos, 2009), it is also mentioned that since the beginning of the industrial revolution, massive amounts of CO2 gas have been released in the atmosphere continuously and not only that, global temperatures are also on a constant rise with the result that this rising global warming trend has succeeded in producing changes in the Earth map. The changes produced in Earth map refer to the vastly reduced Arctic ice-covered area and this is obviously the result of destructive human activities like increased poisonous gases released in the atmosphere.

According to (Biello, 2009), the risks of harmful consequences brought on by global warming has explicitly marred many potential positive aspects, like the complete melting of ice caps in areas like Greenland and Antarctica has seriously interfered with the duration of growing seasons in countries like Canada and Russia. From the burning of fossil fuels to release of poisonous gases in the atmosphere, variations in climate extremes to rising sea levels, and shrinking extent of Arctic sea ice, the issue of global warming due to human actions has unequivocally impacted the Earth both environmentally and geographically in a way that no one can remain oblivious to it.

Talking about the effective ways by which human beings can make themselves capable of reducing the rising rate of global warming, (Casten, 1998) clearly lays stress on the unambiguous importance of energy conservation and the role it can play in controlling the massive CO2 gas concentration in the atmosphere, thus directly influencing the Earth’s temperature and producing eco-friendly results. US and other nations around the globe must analyze the importance of energy conservation and should enhance the efficiency of energy utilities.

This is because an enhancement made in energy efficiency can lead to a significant reduction in electric prices by 30-40% with markedly reduced carbon dioxide emissions, and this may even translate into a 13% drop in total UK CO2 gas emissions in a span of six years as electric prices in UK have been reduced by 15-20%. (Casten, 1998, p. 220). There remains no doubt in the reality that owing to the rapid globalization and industrialization trend the world has faced for the past many years, the incidence of global warming has also increased proportionately, thanks to massive agricultural runoff and industrial emissions.

According to (Turk & Bensel, 2011, pp. 9-10), fossil fuel use has increased tremendously over the recent years and about 40% of the Earth’s land has been converted into agricultural land and cities today and despite this increased consumption, resources remain unequally distributed. In an order to handle the rise in global warming, humans need to maintain economic stability and need to ensure greenery on Earth on a large scale so that environmental setup could be made healthier and largely free of poisonous gases.

Summing up, this remains a reality that human activities have played a vital role in increasing the rate of global warming due to exaggerated use of fossil fuels, increased industrial activities, and wastage of energy. Relying less on saving energy and burning fuels like coal and wood have led to an accumulation of poisonous gases in the atmosphere and by ensuring plantation on a large scale and focusing on saving energy, global warming can be significantly reduced.
