The most important information that resonated with me includes the fact that traditions do not point backwards but rather forward. This is because they allow societal assumptions to be criticized and to be changed according to the present. The other idea that resonated with me is the fact that infrastructural monuments could be used by oppressive regimes to show manipulations. An important point learnt include that there exists a history to the difference between disciplinary and social memories. In addition, the environmental experiences that are rich in providing memories affect people’s lives in a profound manner.
