- -Curriculum area: Art.Name of activity:  Roller Painting.Age group: 2-5-year-olds. Skill area: large motor skills.Materials needed:  poster paint; a large sheet of paper; paint roller; baking pan.Directions: - Pour poster paint into baking pan. - Roll the roller back and forth in the paint; then paint with a roller on a large sheet of paper. Add additional colors of paint to baking pan, and then roll overlapping colors into the paper. Helpful hints: Roller may be wrapped in differently structured material to create various prints such as nets, mesh, etc.

Accommodations: Older children who may become bored with the roller may use other things create various patterns such as the wheels of toy cars, hair rollers, etc.  These objects will also be dipped in the paint and rolled on the paper. -- Curriculum area: Art. Name of activity: Marble Art. Age group: 3-5-year-olds. Skill area:  Large motor skills; SciencуюMaterials needed:  baking tray; paper; marbles, paint; medicine dropper. Directions:- Lay a piece of paper on the flat baking tray.

- Add marbles on top of the paper. - Drop some paint on the paper and move the tray so that the marbles will run over the paint droplets.- Add some more paint drops of different colors and move the tray so the marbles run over the drops and create different colors and patterns. Helpful hints:  Using thicker paints slows down the movements of the marbles, but adding water to the paint will make it thinner but of less vivid colors.Accommodations: Younger children will enjoy this activity too, but they may need assistance with the moving of the tray so that the marbles don’t fall off.

Instead of marbles, small plastic balls may also be used but they should be small enough to roll around the baking tray.
