Topic: Visual Arts INTRODUCTION Pictures vary from one another. No single picture resembles another. The feelings brought about by a picture are among the most important aspects when describing pictures. Many artists will work harder so as to achieve a connection with the audience. The voice of a picture lies in the details that the artist invests in. More often tan not, great pictures are known for the story they tell before the artists give any explanation whatsoever regarding the picture. In this essay, Concentration will be on the pictures that we have, their resemblance and the story the artist wants to communicate.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PICTURE The first picture is of a woman seemingly suspending on the air with cactus plants around her. The first picture I get when I look at the picture is that the lady is extraordinary. Therefore, the picture is drawn in an era when there are beliefs on extraordinary events. Cactus in most cases is a sign of a dry area like a desert. The woman, therefore, could have been from an area of drought. The cactus also represents challenges and hardships. Interesting enough the lady seems to be unbothered by the situation surrounding her.

She seems to have been raised up from the ground. In my view, it shows some form of victory. The woman seems to worry less about the things surrounding her. The colors used in the picture are also a depiction of some form of victory and joy. The colors forming the surrounding areas show some form of darkness that comes along with fear and uncertainty. The lady seems not to be worried by any of these. The cloth that covers her also shows some form of protection and defense from any forms of attacks as the cloth covers her.

The second picture too seems to be of the same lady. The angle that the neck has bent is almost the same as that of the lady in the picture with a frame on it. There are thorns that surround the second picture and beyond the thorns are a black figure that in my view seems to be an evil ghost. The black color and other dark color combination greatly brings the meaning that is expected to be derived from the picture, The picture seems to be of older centuries when there was high belief in superstition and religious devotions.

The lady in the second picture seems to be undisturbed by the challenges and threats that surround her. She seems to be protected from the challenges that face her. The picture colors used show the audience that the picture is of older times (Powda, 2013). ANALYSIS OF THE PICTURE In my analysis and research, there seems to be a connection between the lady in the picture and the religious obligations. I tend to think that the two ladies are the same. The picture is of a time when religion is at its peak.

Most pictures that I have seen identify the Lady as the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus. The picture in my view was taken centuries later when there have been various claims of apparitions of Mary. The same posture that she has on the photo is the same as that which the picture shows us. The pictures attempt to show how victorious the woman is over the various atrocities and factors that surround her. The cactus and the ghost seem to be difficult and hard things to live with. The woman is therefore showing to us how calm she is no matter how hard the situation is.

The woman, who seems extraordinary, seems to be communicating of her suffering and her presence in the lives of those who are suffering. The frames used in the two pictures show various features that are subject to analysis. The dark shading and light shading illustrates how far or how close an individual is. The various levels of lighting used in the picture greatly show us how much distance the pictures might have been taken from (Powda, 2013). The distance is brought about by the light level used and the use of a frame.

Frames play a major role when photos are involved. More often than not, the frames assist in bringing the distance variation. It also makes a picture clearer and more crystal. The picture further shows us how much the man in the picture admires or likes the lady that he gets a tattoo of her. Great chances are that the individual is of Christian belief mostly of the Roman Catholic The artist also places the art at the center of his back, showing how active and cautious the artist to the tattoo is.

The picture also has no defined margins around it. The drawing uses quite rough edges which are a representation of the age of the picture. Most pictures today have sharply defined margins that they adopt that greatly assist in their service. The size of the picture is also notable. The size of the cloth around the first picture is big and most probably is an imagery of the greater power that covers the woman. In a nutshell, the pictures give us all the above, in my opinion, and further explains to us what the drawer of the picture/ artist wanted to communicate without using words.

He only employs the various characteristics of color to bring out the original idea that he/she has on mind factoring in time issues and other issues that have been discussed in the essay (Powda, 2013).
