Final project on Visual Arts and Film Studies Questions on art My final project seeks to establish three critical questions regarding the concept of gender and culture as captured in art an expression. It seeks to explore on the reception that is accorded to gender along the description of culture and traditions. It also seeks to consider on the unspoken gender context that are associated with various events in the community. It further seeks to explore on prospective contribution of gender mainstreaming along the contexts of art and other models of expression in the society. Object creation My object of creation focused on a soccer match. Apparently, this model of sport is associated with an increased perception of gender mainstreaming. Soccer is highly regarded as a male dominated professional with the few females involved being confined to embrace the concepts presented by their male colleagues. I considered playing a gender spin through the introduction of a female official or player in a male team. The character will align with the demands of the sport, however, she will engage a touch of feminism in her appearance. She is anticipated to be in cloths that spell out her gender as well as illustrate on the feminism aspect of the entire context. Apparently, the character will be high heel shoes and having her face in makeup that spells out her feminism. She will be in large earrings and wearing some tight but comfortable outfit. The interest of the object will only be founded on the potential interests it will arouse against the male dominated sport event. An image focusing on a visit by a Brazilian model, Karolina Kurkova, allowed for the development of this perception. She was photographed in a scene akin to my imagination. (Watkins 1) The image allowed an opportunity to evaluate on my three queries. It allowed for the reflection on the possible reception that may be associated to a gender twist in tradition events such as soccer. Apparently, the sport is regarded as a male affair with respect to the dressing and the art of expression. However, the creation allows for the reflection of the contribution that may be generated following the introduction of a differing gender perspective in the entire sport. It also allowed for the reflection on the eventual impression of gender that may not be considered to be declared in various cultures and traditions. Soccer was regarded as a tradition or a culture in the creation. The concept of the sport being advised by a male gender mainstreaming may be regarded as being central in the consideration of a sense of unspoken domination. The introduction of a character expressing an increased touch of a different gender in the sport allows for the conceptualization of the question. Finally, the creation allowed for the establishment of an opportunity to explore on the eventual perception of gender mainstreaming as endeavored through the various aspects of art. Dressing may be considered as a model of art in respect to the ability it accords in respect to expression of a character and beliefs. The usage of art in the expression of the considered creation may be considered to being elemental in the establishment of a convenient perception of gender mainstreaming in the various ethos and beliefs. Creativity on the Object development The primary picture was intended to promote the versatility of the model, as well as be in a position to allow for the conceptualization of the beauty that can be associated to the game of soccer. However, my interests of creation focused on the presentation of the gender mainstreaming that is envisaged in the entire game. Apparently, the perception of having a player or a manager having high heels and extensive makeup in a soccer pitch may be considered as ridiculous. Such an impression is accosted to the beliefs that are associated to the sport. The beliefs are fueled by the perception of gender mainstreaming as embraced by the participants of the spots, as well as the fan base. The impression, thus focused on the additional touch of creativity to deliver a message from an impression of a model aspiring to make an appearance in a football club that she intended to sponsor. Apparently, the primary reason behind the participation of the model in the picture was suggested from her sponsorship on the activities of the involved soccer club (Watkins 1). I felt the desire to point on the respective perception of gender as envisioned in differing perspectives, including the impression that is shared in different perspectives. An extensive sense of disbelief mounted their reaction to the creation. None of them could conceptualize on the purpose of the lady in the soccer pitch. They all conceded that she was not dressed for the event. I made slight inquiries over the prospective description that befits a person dressed for a soccer match. Her footwear was considered unfit for the sport. My friends agreed that indeed she needed to be in a footwear that enable her sense of ease in the maneuvering of the football pitch. Such interactions allowed for the development of my analysis with respect to the creation and the questions of interest. Findings and analysis My findings and analysis were advised by the respective responds accorded to the creation, as well as the content grasped from the lectures. Regarding the perception accorded to art with respect to traditions and cultures, I established of the existence of a mainstreamed perception of certain cultures to being described along a singular context of gender. The traditions of soccer had little room for feminism in respect to expression. The traditions of the sport only allowed the participation of male genders and considered feminism as being inappropriate for the entire task. Apparently, the observation allowed for the amplification of the unspoken gender parity that is associated to the game, and its subsequent traditions and beliefs. There seemed to be a failure in observing some elemental consideration of the parity in gender. Instead, the participants were expected to align along a singular aspect of gender irrespective of their distinction in expression. The work assisted in the contextualization of gender mainstreaming through art. I was able to configure a sense of feminism and masculinity through the context and characters in the image. Such allowed for the developed of a detailed perception on the concept of gender as an expression of art and culture. If I was to consider an adjustment to the study, I would replace the interest of the creation onto the introduction of a male character in a female-dominated event.
