Discussion
This exhibition will entail a scenario where artworks depicting the effects of war, beginning from the world war would be placed next to each other; however, it the first artwork that will be presented will describe events that occur just before the war. The arrangement of all five artworks is made more chronologically.

Exhibition One

This is considered one of the most creative artworks in London; it was created by Walter Bayes in 1918. It shows a scene of the underworld who sought refuge in a Tube-like station in London when it was raided by the air, hence making it relevant to the exhibition theme. It is an effective representation of the consequences of war and how it affects grass root community as depicted in this picture (The underworld society is left homeless and has sought refuge in a Tube-like station). Just like the above art exhibitions, this piece narrates an event of World War I as it happened in London.

Exhibition Two

This artwork, which is a photograph represents the effects of war in Africa, specifically, the Central African Republic. It shows a soldier, captured after being suspected to belong to a former rebel group. The photograph was taken by Issouf Sanogo. Unlike the first artwork exhibited in this discussion, this is artwork is referred to as a photograph usually created by cameras that take instant images. The first artwork is a drawing made by hand and may usually take long periods to create.

Exhibition Three

Similarly to the third exhibition, this artwork represents the effects of war. It was created by John Singer in 1919 to exhibit how Western Front soldiers suffered an attack through the use of Mustard Gas. In addition, this piece was meant to show the magnitude of bravery as it was shown by the Soldiers who lost their lives from the Mustard gas as well as those who survived. The relevance of this artwork to the exhibition theme arises from the fact that it describes a scenario of war, specifically detailing how certain weapons affected soldiers during the First World War.

Exhibition Four

This is a political cartoon that was exhibited in an art Gallery in London. It represents the effects of war in the Arabian region, by specifically showing the extent of the effects of the war between the Israelites and Palestinians. Unlike the other artwork, this is a cartoon work that could have either been generated by hand or by computers. It shows an Israelite soldier attempting to kill a Palestinian at the hands of his mother, while she begs for mercy forgetting that her son is dead.

Exhibition Five

Such artworks were usually created after military conflicts, majorly as a form of appreciating and remembering war heroes, this makes this exhibition relevant to the theme of discussion. It was created in 1925 by the St. Quentin memorial to commemorate the fallen Australian Imperial Forces war heroes, who actively participated in a battle that occurred where the monument was placed. Just like the above artworks, this piece was developed as a result of war; however, it conveys a different form of information as compared to others. ...Download file to see next pages Read More
