Christina's World is a realist tempera portrait by iconic American artist Andrew Wyeth in 1948. In this picture, we can see great styles of art employed by the artist that helps us distinguish the foreground, middle ground, and background. In his artist painting in the foreground, we can see Christina lying on the ground and it suggests that she is trying to make some movement to reach the houses in the far background. The grass in the foreground also suggests that the picture was drawn regarding the dry spell or the harvest season in Chads (Hoptman & Wyeth 2-3). Christina appears mesmerized by her rural setting, a hint of the breeze caressing her loose strands of hair as she gazes towards her home, completely captivated. Besides, we can note the distinguished passive color palette in the foreground that helps us to differentiate the harvested grass and that which is yet to be harvested. Moreover, the different color used helps distinguish the clothes that Christina is wearing from where she is crawling.
