Fashion Designer Introduction A fashion show is one of the most amazing shows in the world. The shows feature high profile female and male models, the fashion world gurus, the most influential celebrities and the high class society in attendance. In addition, top society and respectable magazine gurus and the paparazzi come to get juicy stories in a fashion show. The models showcase unique works of designers and catwalk is superb on the runway. Overall, glam, sexy and high end features captures attention with all the lights, cameras and fun (Moss 4). This paper features two world renowned designers: Tommy Hilfiger and Kenneth Cole. He is also the founder of Tommy Hilfiger Corporation which is a first-class lifestyle brand. At 25, Hilfiger set up a shop called the peoples place in New York City. Tommy Hilfiger is considered great because the designer designs clothes for men, women and children. Furthermore, he designs accessories too. On the other hand, Tommy Hilfiger has a positive and powerful reputation internationally because his designs are classic and trendy at the same time. Due to this, majority of his designs are preferred by the elite class. This has made his designs ironically to be very popular since people admire the high quality of his designs. Characteristics of Tommy Hilfiger’s Aesthetic That Translates to the Store Today Tommy Hilfiger’s anesthetic characteristic that I like the most is his use of color. Tommy choice of colors is playful but serious at the same time. This is because most of his labels are all in red, blue and white. The store has some contemporary designs that were inspired by these colors and are on display. Most of the color printing done on the shirts and dresses was inspired by Tommy Hilfiger. In some respect, I assume is a representation of his country that he is so proud of, but I think it is a statement decision. The color red is bold, sexy and passionate; a statement which I think Tommy wants the client to feel when purchasing the clothes. The color blue is cool, calm and assuring a feeling that leaves an individual composed and fresh. Lastly, the color white represents purity, innocence and peace, which are all Tommy inspiration while designing. Tommy Hilfiger brand is about classy, trendy and youthful so it translates to his choice of color. In addition, another anesthetic characteristic of Tommy Hilfiger that I like is the printing of his name in all his collections. This is an excellent business strategy for promoting a brand and enhancing consumer loyalty. It is due to this that the Tommy Hilfiger brand is reputable internationally. The first department is dedicated for the dresses and skirts. Tommy’s collection in this department is youthful and bubbly. The pants come out very official but also show freedom of choice. This is because it is a blend of casual official. Kenneth Cole Why Kenneth Cole Is “Great” Kenneth cole is an American designer who started his career by selling shoes. He was born in 1954 and is today one of the much acclaimed clothes designers. Today, Kenneth cole deals in men, women, and childrens clothing, shoes and accessories. Kenneth cole is considered great in that he had a humble start and grew into an empire. Moreover, Kenneth cole collection is so versatile and trendy on top of being durable in relation to shoes and bags. Kenneth cole has vast experience since his father owned a shoe company therefore designing is innate to him. In addition, Kenneth cole is considered great since his collections are fairly priced thus are a hit with middle class society and students. Characteristics of Kenneth Cole Aesthetic That Translates To the Store Today The best characteristic that brings anesthetic feelings to the store is the use of past and present. Kenneth Cole is one designer that blends past designs with contemporary designs. The accessories in the soeetoday have been inspired by Kenneth cole as they are a blend of old and new designs. In clothes departments, materials were taken from the past and sewn into modern designs, and that was an inspiration from Kenneth Cole. Students have joked before that when in need of something that reminds an individual of the past or something that one has been looking for for a long time then Kenneth Cole is the place to visit. The designers collection tells a story, and this is anaesthetic. How his designs are blended with the clothes in the store today, the result will be magical. Reasons Why Tommy and Kenneth Are Significant Then and Now Each designer is significant in the fashion industry in their own unique way. Tommy Hilfiger is known to have a flair for fashion and produces quality clothing. The designer is known to capture the high class individuals from the society by his pricey tags. He was significant in the past since he discovered the taste that the elite people wanted. He curved a niche and has continued to ensure customer loyalty. His styles of youthful, bubbly attitude towards his designs have remained constant. Tommy also designs for women since women are great spenders and shopaholics more than men. With this realization Tommy produces more and more products for women. This has helped him stay significant in the contemporary world. Lastly, Tommy has great marketing skills. He uses celebrities to market his products. For example he used renowned musician and entertainer Beyonce Knowles to partner with him in his latest unisex fragrance. For the men he produced the same fragrance but used Enrique Iglesias as his partner. This makes him sell not the product but the label: Tommy Hilfiger. Finally, Tommy Hilfiger appeals to every age group. His brand leaves everybody yearning to someday purchase his products even when they cannot afford. This is why the appeal starts from the young to old and from musicians, to CEOs to rappers and so on. Recently, he ventured into the home furnishings industry where he uses the same creativity he use for designing clothing to design home furnishings. This has been a major area that has helped him stay significant. This has followed reports that his creativity is comparable to the Ralph Lauren of the contemporary world. Kenneth Cole is known to be fair priced and is popular among the middle class society. Kenneth is the master of the past and new as he blends different eras into one. Kenneth Cole has remained significant then and now because he brought creativity and charity together. This was a bold and positive step into the limelight to become one of the most acclaimed designers and to rise from rags to riches story. Kenneth has kept with the simple yet modish and fair priced products and remained consistent only rising with quality. This outstanding nature has seen him remain significant then and now. Moreover, it has not only given him fame but has also seen him named Prada of the people. The major reason why Kenneth has remained significant is his idea market strategy of selling. Kenneth cole designs unlike Tommy Hilfiger who uses color to make statements, Kenneth prints world emotional problems like cancer, AIDS and war. Another reason why Kenneth has remained significant now and then is because of his comical nature of marketing. He is well known one liner in advertisements that touch on all sector of life. This in a way persuades people to go for his products in that he has a policy of reducing prices of new shoes for a donation of an old pair. Lastly, Cole has remained significant because his designs have a way of being memorable. This is because many people have access to his clothes because of the fair prices yet they end up looking stunning and sharp. In addition, Kenneth Cole’s designs especially on shoes have the ability of being functional as it has been proclaimed by most people. Product and Incentives There will be a number of incentives to make the customers shop. The first incentive is the range of clothes from Tommy Hilfiger to Kenneth Cole and our two designers inspired creations too. There will be a reduction of forty percent off in all clothing bought. The more number of clothes a customer buys the more the prices reduce. Each shopper will be given a free gift hamper form Kenneth Cole and Tommy Hilfiger. The hampers include fragrances and accessories. Lastly, all clothes bought at the store during the festival period will be autographed by the two designers. Departments Setting With Products and Décor The department will be divided into three parts. One part will be for Tommy Hilfigers designs, the other for kenneth cole and the other for the stores designs. The décor on which the designs will be placed will include coffee tables and shelves infused with bright lights. The furniture will be white and beige to maximise the use of lights. Clothes will be put on racks in sub sections depending on the type. For example, skirts will be put together, dresses together and so on. The entrance to the store will be if by showcasing accessories then the middle section will hold the clothes shoes and bags will come last inside the store near the changing rooms. Each department will have its own lounge and fitting room. Conclusion Fashion shows are amazing events to watch but they can be very hectic to prepare.
