Sound is a very important element in film because it plays a crucial role in shaping the way the viewer react to, and watches, a movie. In the Jaws movie clip, the most noteworthy category of sound is music. The music score of the film Jaws is probably one of the most recognizable in the industry and if I hear it while out at sea, I’d probably be scared senseless. That simply illustrates the power of the musical score or the music that is played in the background of a scene as the action takes place (Goodykoontz & Jacobs, 2011).

The clip from the film “The Mask,” benefitted most from the power of sound effects. In general, rompy comedy clips do use a lot of exaggerated sound effects to enhance the humor in the scene and basically, to cue the laughter from the audience. The sound effects from the clip no doubt exaggerated the aspects of the scene but in a good way.
