Techniques to Attract the Attention of the Viewers - Movie Review Example

In the course of our semester, one of the most favorite films I viewed was Francois Truffaut’s movie Day for Night which is a combination of the different interesting scenes in the market. The movie is set in different scenes which makes it look very real in the way of presentation of the various characters so that it looks both interesting and brings a sense of romance. In different movies, different techniques have contributed to a movie to attract the attention of the viewers, for example, in the Citizen Kane movie, the technique used in it was the deep focus that incorporated the presentation of the different features and the background in the same view. This technique helped in bringing out the different compositions of the characters in the movie which helps a viewer to have a perspective of it and what is all about. On the other hand, DeSica’s film, Bicycle Thieves has demonstrated Italian realism through the different movements that took place in Rome, an Italian city in addition to the use of Italian names for its characters contributed to making the movie interesting and good to view.

People will like to view a film if it interests them and captures the things that are important to the viewers and can refresh the mind of viewers all the time. For this reason, a film needs to capture the attention of the viewers through varying the scenes of communication and other interesting aspects of the whole video. To capture the attention of viewers, a film producer will need to understand the needs and the interests of its likely audience and this will help them to come up with segments that will make viewers desire to come to desire more of the video (Nelmes 137).

D.W. Griffith presented the movie, Birth of Nation in ways that were captivating to the viewers in that he had double displays which promoted the caption of the attention of viewers and led them to grow fond of the film. Griffith also produced a film that represents the history of America in the form of a video which is very important in attracting them to get interested in viewing it and repeating the view. In watching the films by Martin McDonagh I found them interesting because they represent the different features that help in thinking and enhance creativity in different people. This happens when characters represent a discourse of issues that has a hidden end which is clarified at the end of the film in a way that is creating suspense in the viewers. Quentin Tarantino has produced that people argue that they are violent and dark in viewing them; however, they represent the different features of it in clear ways and those which can be relevant in arousing the interest of the viewer in the course of viewing. Much as the arguments could be true, the films represent a stage of evolution of the culture of the people in America and the violent movies represent a break from the different normalized styles of presenting films.

One of the movies that I found reviving the gangster genre in America is Django Unchained which has very many cases of violence and which causes people to adopt the culture. This could trigger violence in the viewers of the film and stir the violent attitude in people in America as many young people may turn to the skills used in the film to engage in it.

DeSica’s Bicycle Thieves is the movie that I found with the most interesting camera work as well as the story structure which could trigger a desire to watch it again. For example, when Antonio takes a lot of time to follow people who he thinks could have stolen his bike makes the film interesting and the embarrassing moments also contribute to making it interesting.

DeSica’s film is called Bicycle Thieves because there was more than one person who Antonio associated with the disappearance of his bicycle and he also picked someone’s bicycle and was on the verge of escaping with it before he was caught.
