?Analysis of s of Fashion and Culture Him – Alan Pietersen Alan Pietersen is 30 years old and works as an advertising professional in a leading ad agency. He has to his credit a number of campaigns which have run on air and in print successfully. Within his circle he is known as an advertising ‘junkie’ who knows a great deal about brands, concepts and business in essence. He is appreciated for the kind of work that he does on a consistent basis. His work gets the mileage on media and other avenues and the best thing about this is that he feels pride in whatever is being projected. Alan derives his energies from the appreciation that people shower on him which make him stronger, more hip and in line with their expectations which keep getting bigger day after day. Alan Pietersen has a small family – a mother, a father, an elder sister and a younger brother. He is still searching for his ideal soul mate. For him, wife would be someone who can stand up with him in adversarial times and be his confidant. She will be the one who would be the epitome of love and commitment. Alan believes that within the next 3 years he will be a married man. Because of this, he has started saving for the future to make sure that he can raise a family afterwards. Alan knows what he is doing. The only hurdle in his path is the busy work routine that he has to bear almost on a daily basis. Otherwise his search for future wife continues unabated. He is considered as a very fashionable person in his circle. His choice of clothes is extravagant since he belongs to an affluent family. He opines that clothes make a man and thus he sticks to this principle no matter how difficult it is for him to choose clothes on a daily basis. Alan perceives that it is not always branded clothes that give satisfaction. In fact at times clothes worn can also be from unbranded and generic makers yet the quality is such that it becomes wearable. One must understand that Alan’s tastes are highly developed and he gives priority to fabric and the overall quality as well as the look that comes with it. In this department, he is never left behind and feels pride in it. Alan is also actively involved within sports. He likes to pull on his best tracks and tee shirt to enjoy a 5 kilometer walk. He believes in being fit at all times. Laziness is something that is unknown to him. At times, he goes out on the shore for horse riding. This gives him immense satisfaction as the sea shore makes him feel out of this world. Alan enjoys chatting with friends and general people who are present on the sea line. He often does horse racing which is a unique aspect in its own right. Yet Alan’s hobbies are much interesting and one cannot deny the same fact without a doubt. He also watches extreme sports on television and once went to Italy to be a part of the Formula 1 grand prix. As far as his party nature is concerned, Alan Pietersen is always going out with friends and colleagues from work. He goes out to watch movies with his family and friends on every weekend. He enjoys romantic movies when he is with his friends yet wishes to see action and comedies when he is with his family members. Also he likes to sing along with friends and often holds a karaoke session at his home. Many of his friends pour in and then they enjoy a party time. He is known to arrange parties and get involved with all of his friends, near or far. He wants each one of them to enjoy with him and for this reason, he is always eager and willing to throw a party. Alan Pietersen believes in holidays and sightseeing around the globe. In other words, he is a globe-trotter. He once went to the Caribbean islands just to watch the sunsets. He loves sunsets and believes he is a romantic at heart. The yellow twilight amazes him endlessly. This is the reason why he adores the sea and just cannot live without it on any given day. Alan finds time out from his busy schedule to book a vacation – an act which is appreciated given his tough timelines and meetings set with the clients (Huszczo 2010). He believes that to devise fresh ideas, it is significant that an advertising professional goes out of his way and explores the world in a renewed fashion, time and again. Alan staunchly underpins this philosophy. Alan Pietersen wants to give something or the other back to the society that he is a vital part of. Because of this, he has donated generously towards many non-profit organizations in his locality. Alan just cannot say no to anyone. He has this will and determination to help the needy out of his ways. At times, he sacrifices on his money just to make sure that the ones who are suffering on one count or the other receive the treatment that was absent due to lack of money. He has a heart of gold as he wants to help the ones who are around him yet in some form of pain. Alan has secretly coordinated with many organizations just to make sure that his money is given to them as and when required. In fact these initiatives are undertaken on a proactive basis. His place in the society makes him feel proud of his work and his own self. People acknowledge him because he is a known advertising professional. His work gets manifested within the media and the newspapers are a testimony to the same fact. He often writes for the Sunday column in the local weekly which gets the best possible mileage amongst the local publics. He is known to be a very friendly character and because of this, Alan’s personality has grown over a period of time. The societal angle has become stronger and he has gained importance in the eyes of the people around him or those who have known him in one way or the other. This suggests that Alan is doing something worthwhile for the society that he is being hailed across the board. He believes in luck and wears different charms on a regular basis. It would be correct to say that Alan Pietersen is a superstitious character. Even though no one else in his family thinks of superstitions the way he does, it creates a sense of incomprehensibility as to why he follows these charms in a religious way. Perhaps he has experienced some matters related with luck which went ahead well with his domains. His father and mother both are against this habit of his and have often told him to let go off these charms for his own betterment yet he would never appreciate such perspectives that are raised about what he believes most. Alan knows that he is doing something right and for this, he is ready to bear the consequences, no matter what they are and how they come up. On the whole, Alan Pietersen is an interesting fellow who likes to know more about life and how it transcends into different avenues. He involves his own self with people who matter the most to him. He has an extrovert personality which attracts people automatically. His identity is such that people wish to be his friends once he is around them. Alan is very down to earth and a very avid listener. This makes him a complete man in the eyes of many ladies. Even though he is not a flirt, but deep down inside he is finding his future wife. For him, life is a joyride and he is making the most of it until he dies. Hence Alan is a character that is more than Alan Pietersen himself – he is a man of all seasons. She has a very small family – comprising of just her mother and herself. Since her father died some 15 years back, she has spent most of her life with her mother. Also she likes to wear tee shirts and pjs on most of the occasions. Her favorite piece of clothing is her black wrist band which one would see her wearing most often. According to her, it was given to her by one of her best friends 2 years ago. Sarah likes high heels and wishes to buy them whenever she has saved enough. Sarah does not like to waste time within activities that do not give her any satisfaction. She detests any form of sport that is on television or played practically. She believes that sports take up a lot of time and hence it would be best if she keeps away from such disturbances in her life. Sarah has never liked playing any sport either. But still she has the perfect figure that she can carry along and is very proud of this fact. She devotes more time towards going to art exhibitions or simply drawing in her living room on a canvas. This is a form of escape for her as she opines that neither time gets wasted nor there are any delays in the completion of day to day tasks on her part. She likes to go out with friends and have a good time. Basically, Sarah Gilbert is a party animal. She has always appreciated a cluster of friends around her and because of this she can be regularly seen visiting one of her friends every now and then. Sarah talks about movies, social happenings, art and her students with her friends, which allows her to feel happy and jovial inside her personality. Sarah also brings DVDs to her place and asks one of her closest friends to come and watch a movie with her in the living room. Often times, she and her mother are the ones who would watch an old classic, thus allowing them to savor every moment that they spend together. She believes in paying back to her mother for raising her up this way and a motherly huge is her biggest weakness (Tieger and Barron-Tieger 2000). Sarah spends more time on the Internet than she would do so for a holiday. She is not the romantic sightseeing sort who would wait for sunsets and cruises to give her the ultimate scenery. She believes in the power of the social media and displays her art intent to the people on the web by joining social media platforms, avenues and boards. She is an active participant of the literary forum on the Internet and has been given many awards for this initiative that she undertook 5 years back. Sarah likes to chat with her friends on the Internet, and sometimes she is also seen using the instant messengers Skype and MSN. Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest are her other favorite social media platforms on which she spends most of her computer time. As far as giving back to the society is related, Sarah Gilbert is of the view that her role can best be manifested if she associates herself with some reputable NGO that does work for the downtrodden people. She has written many articles on the social media asking for help and assistance for the needy. Also she has undertaken a few walks with her friends and colleagues to facilitate the victims of a recent outbreak of a deadly disease. Since she has good hand writing, Sarah writes the banners herself and believes in giving her best towards a cause that she has undertaken. Her satisfaction can always be doubled whenever she finds out that the cause in which she was participating is acknowledged by other people as well. She is much satisfied with her place in the society as her friends and acquaintances believe that Sarah Gilbert is quite popular and whenever she asks for a cause on their part, they are more than willing to contribute. It is due to her ‘giving’ role that she has received admiration and accolades from the people time and again. She does not commit to such measures for the sake of gaining recognition. The feeling is much intrinsic as she might never reveal it in person. She had received many awards and recognition certificates from a number of institutions in her circle which suggest for his immense appreciation time and again. Sarah feels pride in the fact that people acknowledge her yet she would never show it to anyone. Sarah Gilbert does not believe in being lucky. In fact she detests the feeling of luck coming to the fore at all. She is the sort who would absolutely hate the idea of success being related with luck in one form or the other. Sarah believes in hard work and conviction. She would much rather go out there and make a difference herself than wait for the right moment. She makes the right moment herself. This is an inherent trait of Sarah’s which is openly appreciated by the people at large. For her, being lucky does not seem an important entity yet being more constructive would do the trick. She is always reliant on her beliefs and complete devotion rather than something which is not in her hands at all. Sarah Gilbert’s personality is not only charming but also very appealing. Her sense of fashion and clothing is top class and deserves to be hailed openly. She gets the applause from the people time and again. She comes up with interesting situations whenever she is surrounded by her close friends, colleagues or even acquaintances. She sings whenever she is in their company and people absolutely adore her voice. She is a gem of a person who wishes to spend more and more time with her. Her personality keeps getting stronger with each passing day. Her cultural basis is manifested in each and every action of Sarah’s. Further, both Alan and Sarah are trendy and like to live it up when it comes to fashion. Both seem to be a class apart yet are different in their own righteous ways. Alan believes in being lucky and wears special charms for it which is not the case with Sarah at all. Alan is romantic at heart yet Sarah would wait for the ideal man to come and explore her options. There are marked differences between the two which are summarized within their intrinsic traits and characteristics. Comparing Alan and Sarah also raises the question of being truthful with their own domains which is indeed a point of similarity that one can find between them. Both belong to the artistic field which speaks for their mood swings and transitions which are a hallmark of the people within the artistic field. Since Alan is into advertising, he has seen the mass media effects while Sarah teaches in an art school where she has a limited audience.
