The assignment intends to provide a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Spain for a tourist. The assignment purposes to show a brief knowledge of the airfare and the hotels of the nation. Further, the means of ground transportation and the weather of the nation at that period of time are also considered in the assignment. The cultural and the language familiarity of the tourists from the US are also highlighted. Moreover, a generic idea about the currency exchange rate and the knowledge of the local cuisines in the restaurants is also revealed. Furthermore, it provides a brief knowledge along with overview of the historical sites of the country and also the understanding of local customs and traditions. Airfare The trip that would be initiated six months from the present day from the US to Spain would have an airfare of around $750 to $1,000. Thus, for a round trip it would cost around $1,500 to $2,000. The present aforementioned airfare is to be considered for the adult people. However, for the children the fare is approximately half to that of the adults. Moreover, if there is a requirement of domestic air travel from one place to another in Spain there are several airports located in the country. The typical one way trip within the country costs around $20 to $30. The airfares stated are reasonable in order to complete a trip to Spain (Trip Advisor, 2014; Expedia Inc., 2014; Travelocitiy, 2014; Foders, 2014). Hotels Spain is one of the most favorite tourist spots in the world, and therefore several hotels are established in the country providing quality services. Ground Transportation For any tourist to enjoy the beauty of tourist spot it is necessary to have some means of ground transportation. There are several means of ground transportation in Spain for tourist people. These include buses, shuttle cars, trains, and many more to make the transportation convenient for people. The typical cost of travelling with these vehicles is around $5 to $10 on per hour basis for an individual. Thus, for the complete day of travel (assuming 10 hours of journey) the cost for the same would be around $50 to $100. However, there are possibilities of deduction of the fare if they are travelling for long hours with a group. The distant places within the country can also be covered with the facility of airlines at different locations. The one way cost for the domestic travel by an individual would cost around $20 to $30. Ground transportation is important aspect of tourism as few people might love to enjoy the beauty of the country through roadways or seaways (Trip Advisor, 2014; Expedia Inc., 2014; Travelocitiy, 2014). Weather Considerations Six months hence from the present day means the month of April, 2015. This is the best month to visit Spain because of the spring and lovely weather. Spring season enhances the beauty of Spain and tourists get higher satisfaction. In this period the sun is brighter and warm and thus boosts the mood of the tourists. The temperature remains at 15°celcius to 20°celcius in this period, which is pleasing for the tourists. There are possibilities of rainfall but it is not as heavy that it would spoil the tour plans. The weather and beauty of Spain during this season is great and hence identified as the best time for tourists (The Weather Channel, 2014). Language Familiarity Although, the local language of Spain is Spanish but it would not be such a significant issue if a non speaker of Spanish language comes from the US. Nearly, 30% of the people in Spain know English. So conversation with the Spanish people would not be such an issue. This would make tourists feel comfortable. Further, it is to be noted that Spanish is the second most spoken language in the US after English. Hence, the people coming from the US would not have to bother much about the language to be spoken. Moreover, the people around the tourist places and spots are also English speakers. This is significantly seen in the hotels, tourist agents, and more. This aspect makes tourists enjoy the cultural aspect at ease without any issue related to communication (Phillips & Phillips, 2010). Cultural Familiarity Although, two countries the US and Spain are highly developed, but still both the countries have some of the cultural differences. The US is more performance oriented as compared to that of the people of Spain. The people of Spain spend more time on leisure as compared to that of the US. The people of Spain are more friends and family oriented as compared to that of the people of the US. Therefore, the visit to Spain will make the people enjoy the tradition and culture of the Spanish people (Phillips & Phillips, 2010). Currency (Euro € vs. US $) The currency that is used in Spain is Euro. The present exchange rate value of Euro in comparison that of one US dollar is 1.25 i.e. 1$ = 1.25 €. It is also expected that the exchange rate would not vary as much as compared to that of the present day. It is also observed that as the US dollar is more powerful than the Euro, thus tour to Spain would be comparatively cheaper. This aspect would attract more customer and tourism (XE, 2014). Popular Local Cuisine There are several popular local cuisines of Spain and are very liked by most of the tourists. The Spanish delicacies add to the aspect of tourism and food loving people. The local cuisine include “Gazpacho or salmorejo, chorizo, Cured meats – jamon, salchichon, Fried milk, Pisto – Spanish ratatouille, Red or white sangria and tinto de verano, Tortilla Espaniola” and many more. The food is of utmost importance for few tourists as cuisine helps in attracting people and is of tourism importance (Medina, 2005). Historical Sites Spain is one of the favorite tourist spot in the world because of the rich history of the nation and presence of historical evidences. One of them is the Alcazar of Segovia, which is a medieval fortress presently turned into a royal palace. Moreover, Baelo Claudia is also a famous historical place, with architectural significance and components of Roman city. It is a preserved ancient city. Further, the historical site El Escorial is a royal palace build in 16th century. Another most important historical site is the Belchite. Belchite is a town that was destroyed in the Spanish civil. However, it attracts people because of ethereal remains of the town. Furthermore, La Sagrada Familia also provides great historical evidences. It is the place where Antoni Gaudi finally got free from life. Therefore, a visit to Spain would help people to gain knowledge about the historical architectural sites with evidences (Phillips & Phillips, 2010). Local Customs/Traditions The country Spain is rich in its local customs or traditions. One of the important traditions is the ‘Tapas’. ‘Tapas’ is not a kind of food but it is the way though which people eat their food. Moreover, ‘Bullfighting in Spain’ is one of the most controversial traditions in Spain. Each year numbers of people get killed due to the attack of the bulls. However, it is the reputation of Spain to engage in bull fighting. People visit Spain to enjoy the bull fighting as a mark of their tradition. Although the game is played in other countries but it is extensively popular in Spain. Several tourists come to Spain to experience the life-threatening game. Further, ‘Flamenco in Spain’ is also a rich and most famous tradition in Spain. With guitar, vocals, rhythms, and the pretty dress of the women, Flamenco becomes more attractive. Conclusion Through the assignment it is clear that Spain is a very beautiful place for tour and hence, can be considered as one of the hot spot for tourists in the world. The nation has become the favorite tourist spot because of the rich customs and traditions and also the significant historical evidences. The luxurious hotels and local cuisines also attract tourists to come in Spain. Moreover, the pleasing weather and the sophisticated ground transportation within the country adds flavor to the mood of the tourists. Further, it can also be noted that touring in Spain is not as costly for the people of the US because of the exchange rate benefit.
