Event Management Project Plan Strategy Plan The strategic plan will involve actions that need to be taken in order to achieve the goals, which is to create a unique pizza burger for the Fork event and sell it on a van. The Fork event will be held on the 28th of September 2014 in King George Avenue, Hove. The product chosen to be sold is a pepperoni pizza burger, which would be something new for the people in Australia and would be sold under the name PepPizBurg. This concept of a pizza burger is quite old and famous in countries like USA and England but people in Australia do not know much about it (Roberts and Mustard 115). It has a good demand in all the American and European countries where it is served so there are chances that people in Australia could also like it. The resources required for the pepperoni pizza burger are the raw materials needed to make the food, a van that would be used as a kitchen and a point to sell pizzas and a staff to serve people participating in the event (Tulani 59). The raw materials would include pepperoni prepared in home. The pepperoni would be round in shape and would have equal proportions of beef and pork. All the spices required would be prepared in home. Bun and cheese would be purchased from a bakery and would be baked and sliced by the chef. The van would be rented for a day from a car rental shop. The staff would include five employees. The chef is one of the persons that came up with the idea of a pepperoni pizza burger. He is the creator of the recipe and a part of business. The rest of the employees would all be hired. The hired employees would include a cashier required to manage cash at the day of the event. 1 person would be required to serve the pizza to the customers once it is ready. The remaining 2 persons would promote the event at the day it is happening. They would reach out to people to tell them about the new pizza and ask them to give it a try. As the event is expected to be very crowded, these 2 people would come to good use for the business. The SMART Model would help to explain the business strategy plan and objectives more precisely (Ungson and Wong 96). Specific The objective for PepPizBurg is to create a unique pizza burger that catches the attention of an entrepreneur. The goal was to go with something that is distinct rather than the usual food that would be available. Something unique would always have a better chance to catch the attention of others. PepPizBurg aims to open an independent chain of fast food pizza burgers once it successfully finds an investor. Measurable The food event would be measurable by the sales of pizza burgers made. There would be 200 pizza burger available and the success and failure would be measured by the total sales made in the Fork event. Action In total there will be 5 employees available to serve the needs of the customers. The five employees will be actively involved in contributing towards the preparation and selling of the pizza burgers on the day of the event. This would not have been possible without the recipe of the chef who also happens to be a partner. The chef is responsible for preparing and decorating the pizza burger while the remaining three partners are responsible for hiring the staff members and promoting the event. Realistic All the previous Fork events organized earlier have been a major hit. Fork has been responsible for introducing food business in Australia. People come up with inventive ideas and implement it in the event. Many entrepreneurs participate and look to invest in food business and items that interests them. There is a very realistic chance that the pepperoni pizza burgher gets noticed by some entrepreneur who likes it and decides to invest in the business. Time The event is to take place on the 28th of September and the pizza burgers would be sold till right at the end of the event, depending upon the stock of pizza burgers available. The success or failure will only be evaluated once the event is over and the amount of offers PepPizBurg has received from entrepreneurs for its local independent fast food chain. Target Market The target market for PepPizBurg pepperoni pizza burgers are people aged between 5 and 50. Pizzas and burgers are popular among all age groups in Australia. Kids and elders all enjoy it. This unique pizza burger will try to attract kids, teenagers, young adults and adults up to the age of 50. People aged below 5 and over 50 are not targeted only because of marketing reasons. They are most welcome to eat the pizza burgers offered by PepPizBurg. The sales persons would find it hard to convince kids below the age of 5 and matured people above 50 years of age and for this reason they are not included in the target market. Product Mix Product The product that will be offered by PepPizBurg would be a round pizza shaped burger that would be cut into 8 slices, just like a standard pizza is done. It would be covered by a large bun specially prepared by a bakery. The pizza burger will look like a burger with brown crisp bun visible on the top and bottom. In the center it would contain a pizza with all its initial topping (Tulani 112). The ingredients in the center would include pepperoni, cheese, mushrooms, vegetables and all the essential raw materials that are found inside a pizza. Price The aim of PepPizBurg is to make pizza available to as many people as possible in the event. The creators are not interested in short term profits and want the company to prosper in future. The prices would be set as low as possible so that only the cost of raw materials, car rental and the employed staff is covered in them. It will follow a price penetration strategy as the aim of the company is to explore the event and make the pizza burger affordable for everyone to enjoy (Pride and Ferrell 375). Place The pizza burger would be sold only at the day of the Fork event. The company has an online existence and people can get coupons from there. People can avail discounts and great deals if they buy coupon in advance (Shankar, Carpenter and Farley 156). Some deals to promote people in buying pizza burgers include offers like buy 3 slices of pizza burgers and get one free. Promotion The product has been promoted in schools, colleges, supermarkets by handing in flyers to people and students in their respective localities. The aim of distributing flyers was to make the students and shoppers aware of a unique pizza burger that would be available on the 28th of September at the famous Fork event. Some posters were also displayed at the schools, university and supermarkets for the same purpose. Door to door marketing for the event was also done to a limited area. The aim was to let people know about the event and how PepPizBurg would serve them there. Promotional activities would also be displayed at the day of event (Pride and Ferrell 221). The van will be decorated like a pizza burger so that people from distance could identify what it is (Pride and Ferrell 210). The same portrait would be drawn on flyers and posters to make students and shoppers more inclined towards the product.
