14th December Domestic Destination Part Eco Tourism The term ecotourism can be defined as a responsible travel that individuals may undertake to the natural areas so that the environment can be conserved and improve the living condition of the individuals who are around the natural area. Ecotourism entails conservation, uniting communities and having a sustainable travel. Through ecotourism the environment is build and individuals acquire awareness concerning the cultural activities and respect to the environment (Heather, 45). Individuals who participate in ecotourism play a major role by providing experience for residents who are the host and the visitors who have come for a sustainable travel and conservation of the natural areas. Through participation the individual provide financial assistance and thus the local individuals are empowered. Additionally, the local community can attain direct financial benefit through conservation of the natural resources (Allen and Frank, 31). Through conservation the heritage and the beautiful environment is protected while the communities benefit from employment thereby achieving a sustainable development. This means that a preserved ecosystem will host tourist to come and witness beautiful planet and social climate (Chawla, 23). Through ecotourism individuals are able to understand the nature, local community and their culture. Medical tourism Medical tourism refers to a travel that tourist undertake to ensure that they can get medical treatment (Kulkarni, 20). The purpose of traveling is to attain and improve their health or fitness. Medical tourism has a long history that dates back thousands of years. For example, in Greece thousands patients were traveling so that they could receive healing from Asklepios in Epidauria . Asklepios was a god who used to heal individuals from any part of the country who had different problems and this was a reason why individuals would travel (Bookman and Karla, 31). In other countries people travel from other parts of country when they hear there is a place where their problem related to medical issues. For example people used to travel from other countries so that they would collect water that was assumed to be holy. For example the waters from the holy shrines have been used by many individuals who move from one country to another so that they will collect the holy water (Stolley and Stephanie, 54). This is a medical tourism since the tourists have one goal of being healed whenever they will visit such places. For the less developed countries, patients tend to seek medical assistance from developed countries which can be termed as medical tourism. Adventure tourism Adventure tourism is a widespread phenomenon that is appealing to the individual who seek destinations and acquire new experience. Adventure tourism offers an individual with an opportunity to mingle with other individuals either locally or internationally (Buckley, 41). Adventure tourism is mainly characterized by a vocation that an individual will have an experience on the natural environment; individual may prefer to travel to a remote location and get experience on how other individuals survive in such an area. The main purpose of adventure tourism is to acquire a new experience and also have an active participation that is physical nature (Swarbrooke, 61). Adventure tourism also encourages cultural exchange, for example, different countries have different cultural practices, it would be important if individual will move from one country to another acquiring different cultural practices for example the rite of passage is a cultural practice which is different from one country to the other (Taylor, 25). Additionally, individual like to explore different countries so that they will engage with the nature of that country. For example the sub-Saharan countries may be willing to adventure to cool and warm climatic conditions. Cultural tourism This type of tourism is whereby individuals tend to be concerned with other countries culture, for example the lifestyle of the society in that geographical area, history of the society, religion, art and their diet habit is referred to as cultural tourism. In the recent years individuals have adopted tourism in urban areas where different cultural practices are performed for example, museums and theatres (Ivanovic, 34). Art and other archeological tools have been displayed in the museums to entertain tourist to come and learn the different cultural practices of individuals. On the other hand the theatres are used as a city where traditions and the indigenous cultural practices are performed to attain the tourists (McKercher and Hilary, 36). For example, festivals and rituals which were performed by different indigenous people are routinely conducted to ensure that the young generations are equipped with know-how of their cultural practices. The need for the young generation to be satisfied with their cultural practices has increased (Wagen and Brenda, 25). This is the reason why individual will move from one place to another so that they will get the experience on cultural practices of indigenous people. Gastro tourism Gastro tourism means a recreational travel that is taken by individuals so that they will experience the eating habits and wine of a particular region (Choudhary, 15). For example Italy and France are thought to be countries that are associated with traditional European food which make individuals from the least of Europe to visit them so that they will satisfy their traditional food habit. This trend is increasing and being shaped by international trend where individuals move for holidays for food and wine (Dhaliwal, 17). This trend has made other countries to start gastro tourism by encouraging traditional food sector and other recreational sectors to attract tourists. Countries are starting their own tourist trade for food and wine since the population is increasing with need of emotional connection with food. Culture and history will be felt and thus make individuals to keep a lasting impression on the traditional food and drinks. For example in England individual will move from one region to another focusing on a tour that will satisfy quest for tea, wine and sausages (Sharpley, 20). Traditional eating habits makes individual to feel as if they are back in their root even if they have traveled to look for employment. Sports tourism This is whereby individuals like to be associated with sport activities. They travel to ensure that they will engage on those activities (Weed and Chris, 28). The experience of traveling from one country to the next to view sport activities is termed as sport tourism. Sport tourism is classified with three types; one is sport event tourism that includes events like Olympic Games and the World Cup. The two are known as center for attraction where tourists will move from one country to the next so that they will participate on the activity (Hinch, and James, 46). The next classification is active sport tourism that involves the individuals who are participating on the sport event for example, golf and tennis among others. The participants will move from one country to the next so that they will compete with other countries (Ritchie, 45). The third classification is nostalgia sport tourism which involves individuals who travel to different famous sport areas which are center for attraction. This will mean that the individual will visit the halls that he or she thinks they are best with entertainment. Sex tourism This is a travel that individual engage in for the purpose of sexual activities (Brents and Crystal, 36). Sex workers will move from one place to the next so that they can conduct their sexual activity for example, they will travel where events like Olympic Games and World Cup are held since a lot of people visit the country which is host for the world Cup or Olympics (Ryan and Colin Michael, 41). The commercial sex workers create good relationship with the residents and tourists who have visited a particular country so that they can benefit from sexual activity. The aim of sex tourism is to gain money from the act of prostitution and this is the reason why sex workers will visit one country to the next so that they will fulfill their desire and gain financially through the act (Clift, 42). Sex workers will move from their country so that they want to attract the tourist, others will move from their country because the cost of sexual services is low in their country. Others will move because sex tourism is not encouraged by the government. Volunteer tourism Volunteer tourism can also be referred to as volunteer travel, volunteer vocations. Volunteer tourism simply means how individuals visit different countries for the purpose of charitable work (Lyons, 30). For example, in countries that are less developed and those that are torn by war different organization send representatives so that will help the country in charitable work. For example, they may join the local community in the cleaning of the environment so that a favorable environment will be attained (Herbutt, 34). Others will travel to go and try to conserve the wildlife that is being pouched by the local community and teach them importance of conserving the wildlife. The participant may also engage on the scientific research concerning the environment and thus they will do anything to make sure that the environment will be sustainable (Benson, 38). The participant will provide charitable work according to their matter of interest and work for any duration since it is an optional activity which should be held. Party tourism Party tourism is how young and some older individuals travel or visit certain regions so that they will indulge in drinking, eating, dancing when together (Walton, 19). For example most young individuals aging 30 from north Europe travel to warm locations like in Mediterranean so that they will engage in party behaviors where they drink and dance together. Individuals will visit their preferred destination locations with their loved one so that they will party together (Picard, 20). The purpose of party tourism is to make sure that individual will have a vocation which they are going to relax together and merry together for certain duration. Different preferred destinations may be visited so that the party will be attractive and enjoyable to the individuals (Dozois, 22). Party tourism usually takes a minimum of one overnight and 3 meal which are provided and a place where individuals will meet for the party. The cost will depend according to the place and the services that are going to be provided. Educational tourism Students visit different locations so that they will be facilitated with education. Educational tourism is a travel that is associated with the student for educational opportunities (Ritchie and Neil, 40). For example school trips which are academic in nature boost the children education. On the other hand local restaurant businesses are able to acquire profit from the visit (Cohen, 39). Studying abroad can be classified under education tourism since the student has to travel to a foreign country so that he or she will further the education (Cushner, 45). Seminars vocations are also education tourism since the employees will learn and enjoy the traveling from one place to the next. Part 2 With the growing demand for tourism activities in US, many local companies have been engaged in making official requests from the government to be given an opportunity to manage the destinations. US has some of the best destinations in the world. Our company has been given an opportunity to develop and manage New Yellowstone destination with an aim of creating a proper environment that will make the US experience high number of tourists locally and globally (Baker, 26). The aim of the company is to provide an excellent adventure tourism that will make the destination to provide services that will result to strong relationship with our clients as well as increased revenue for the country. Components of New Yellowstone New Yellowstone will provide excellent components that the customers have been aiming at. One of the major components that the company will establish in the destination is a 60 inch multi-media interactive site that will be full of fun facts. The exhibit will provide the destination photographs that will be taken by our strong marketing team (Buckley, 11). Additionally, the destination will provide a 900 square foot store that will ensure that Yellowstone collections as well as the information on animal sightings are well stored. Other notable components that will be provided by the destination include video kiosks, LCD map display and cultural treasures among others. Organization New Yellowstone will offer world class services through its state of art premises. In order to effectively undertake its services, the destination will be organized into various strategic initiatives. First, the company will offer wonders and wilderness areas. Through the Yellowstone Park, this area will provide the home for breeds that are scarce in the world. The company will hire the renowned services of park biologist (Eric et al, 69). Some of the major species that the destination will provide in the lake is Artic Graying as well as Yellowstone cutthroat trout. The two species that have become scarce globally will boost the number of visitors attending the destination and who are attracted by wildlife. Yellowstone will provide an opportunity to make its visitors have new and exciting experiences. For example, the company will introduce a photo shop that will be referred to as New Faithful Haynes. Through the New Faithful Haynes Photo Shop, visitors will be allowed to learn about the Yellowstone and the attractive components that are available in the destination. The culture treasure that our company will introduce will be undertaken by a well organized group of anthropology graduates from the local area to organize the collections as the destination archives. The company will also adopt an effective processing blitz technique that will be used by the destination archivists to educate the visitors and inform them on the benefits of the destination. To ensure that Yellowstone provides its visitors with an opportunity to enjoy the exciting attractions, the company will also establish the department of ranger heritage. The company aims at providing Yellowstone rangers with modern security systems. Additionally, our company will provide ranger patrols with modern firefighting gadgets and rescues systems that will ensure the security of our visitors. Our company will make the destination one of the greenest destinations in the world. The New Yellowstone will collaborate with other companies in US to introduce a renewable energy. This will be done by the establishment of a department that will be referred to as Yellow-Ecoscam. Impacts of the tourism industry on your destination One of the major impacts of the Adventure tourism in Yellowstone destination is that it will result into creation of jobs either directly or indirectly in the sectors such as transport and retail outlets. Another positive impact is that it will lead to social effects. This includes improved infrastructure and introduction of social amenities in the local areas. Through the preservation of customs as well as festivals, the destination will play a significant role of creating a civic pride. As far as environment is concerned, the tourism will have positive impact on the destination. For instance, the Yellowstone will act as conservation of wildlife. In this way, it will make more tourists to arrive at the destination in future. Principal motivators for tourists to travel to our destination Tourists will travel to the New Yellowstone due to various motivators. First, the destination will provide a park that will provide wildlife and plant species that are scarce in US and other parts of the world. This implies that our visitors will get an opportunity to get an experience that is not available in any other destination. While most of our visitors will be domestic visitors, the establishment of The New Yellowstone International Airport, will be useful in ensuring that foreign visitors easily access our destination. Given the high number of young people who have turned to social media to share information with their friends, the New Yellowstone will use social sites including face book and twitter to form strong relationship with their customers (Barbara and Linda, 46). Additionally, we will display various attractive sites that the New Yellowstone will establish. The destination will also advertise its services through tourism and destination magazines including AFAR Travel Magazine, Departures, and Executive Travel magazine among others. In addition the destination will use local television stations to create strong customer awareness. To ensure that more potential customers are aware of the services being offered by our destination, the New Yellowstone will sponsor cultural events in US and other countries. In this way, the tourists will be motivated to come and experience the services that give them the value of the money they pay. With the increased demand for tourism services especially in the festival seasons, the New Yellowstone will also launch a competition whereby all the visitors will be given an opportunity to win fabulous prizes once they visit our destination (Harlan, 54). The destination will also create strong awareness through launching of roadside shows where it will introduce dancing competitions to the locals especially the young people who are major target for the destination. Political, social, environmental, and economic impacts on New Yellowstone Political New Yellowstone is based in US. This implies that the political stability in US will provide the company with a favorable environment that will result into improvement of its day to day activities. Additionally, political stability will make the New Yellowstone to be successive since failure to provide security to the tourist will mean that New Yellowstone will deteriorate in terms of profit. Political factors influence the outcome of the company for example, if the region where New Yellowstone will operate will not have enough security then few number of visitors both local and foreigners will visit due to security issues (Harlan, 34). Since the company is based in US, the visitors will be protected by the US security and thus resulting to a recreation center which will be favorable to individuals. Social US is among the countries that like to engage in vocations, New Yellowstone will suit the high number who visitors from different countries. Social factor impacting on New Yellowstone is the emerging and young and older generations who like to socialize with other individuals from different places. The population will impact on the company since the locals will not visit other places but will be part and parcel of New Yellowstone (Harper, 67). This will increase the profit of the company since the locals and other individuals from different countries will own the emerging company thus making it to venture in US. The aim of the company is to provide an excellent adventure tourism that will result to strong relationship with our clients as well as increased revenue for the country. Environment Being hospitality and catering company which will attract its customers locally and globally, New Yellowstone will provide multi media funs to the customers, video kiosks, LCD map display and cultural treasures among others will need an environment which will be conducive to the tourists (Jonathan, 14). An environment with low carbon emissions will attract a lot of tourists. In US environmental degradation is not allowed and this will contribute greatly on New Yellowstone performance currently and in the future. A conducive and safe environment that will not be prone to carbon emissions will not result to global warming and thus individuals who are in areas where the environment is not maintained will like to be associated with New Yellowstone. Economic Macroeconomic factors will be the major factors that will affect New Yellowstone. For example the Boston marathon which is held in US will contribute directly greatly to New Yellowstone since it will be a destination where tourists from other countries can relax and have all sort of fun. Additionally, cultural practices are going to be taught and this will make different individuals to know the cultural activities of US (Hartley, 23). This will lead to a stable economy and increase revenue to the government. The company will increase its profit and further it will create job opportunities for the youth who will be employed to cater for the tourist who will visit New Yellowstone destination. Appropriate planning processes needed for tourism development for the New Yellowstone Creation of visitor domain The New Yellowstone will aim at creating diversity thus the destination will offer quality experience to all visitors regardless of their race or origin. To ensure that the destination creates strong image on the eyes of the visitors, the destination will come up with a gate way that will be designed by our archaeologists. This will be in the form of a 5 meters model that will be green in colour. The gate mark will mark the transition from ordinary into extraordinary place and experience (Griffiths and Griffiths, 89). The destination will also invest in radio advertisements through the use of various languages including English, Chinese, Japanese and Italian. This is based on the fact that the destination focuses at attracting tourists from various countries. New Yellowstone will base its operations on a market research that will ensure that it provides services that meet the needs of the customers. The destination will also target statistical defined tourists that will be provided with services depending with their gender and ages. Well designed transportation linkage In order to ensure that our visitors easily access our services and provide easy movement within our premises, New Yellowstone will provide a well designed transport system that will link all the routes within the destination. Environment protection Based on the fact that we focus at attracting large number of tourists, New Yellowstone aims at investing in effective methods of conserving the available ecosystem. The destination will provide rules and regulation that will be hanged on various locations within the premises. Partnership In order to ensure that we remain competitive within the US tourism sector and in the global market, our destination will look for partners in the US. By forming partnerships with well established companies in the industry, we shall have stronger marketing strategies that we ensure that we enjoy strong customer awareness (Cocks, 36). In addition, the New Yellowstone will venture in other countries especially in the West African regions where there are wildlife and plants that may be not available in most parts of the world. Based on the pluralistic nature of tourism sector, there is need to engage other parties who offer adventure tourism not only in the developed countries but also in the developing countries. Product life cycle One of the notable aspects that we cannot overlook in our efforts to provide excellent adventure tourism is product lifecycle. Tourism just like any other product, grow in popularity and as time goes, they demise in popularity (Cerwinske and Kaminsky, 58). Thus we are going to ensure that during the introduction stages we create strong linkage with our customers including extensive advertisement through the internet, newspapers, magazines, banners and through the television stations. Additionally, we are going to be prepared in an effective way to handle the challenges that we may face while at the maturity stage. Economic benefits to be captured During our planning stages, our focus will be to get economic benefits that will be experienced even by local communities. Destination visitors are usually willing to spend money, and thus it is imperative for destinations to provide other facilities that will add value to the services already existing. In our endeavors to provide services that meet the needs of our clients, the New Yellowstone will ensure that it captures economic benefits by provision of accommodation, fuel station, food, galleries and local craft shop (Buckley, 47). Strategic plan for the New Yellowstone In order to create strong awareness among the customers, our destination will engage in various corporate social responsibilities before it starts on its development strategies. For example, we will come up with social events whereby members of the society will be provided with opportunities to show their cultures as well as skills. Additionally, the destination will offer free visits for the local high schools and college students. In this way, the destination will provide the young potential consumers a chance to experience quality services that we will offer in future. Once the destination attains a significant development, our focus will be to increase the number of tourists who will visit the destination annually (Borden, 18). To increase the number of visitors, the destination will hire the services of ambassadors who will market the destination locally and globally. Additionally, the New Yellowstone will establish training programs where the stakeholders will be provided with opportunities to study the cultural practices of other people in other countries. Conclusion One of the major industries that have resulted to the economic development of countries is tourism. With the growing number of destinations in US, it is imperative that quality services that provide value for the money paid by the tourists be provided. Based on lack of financial resources in developing countries that hinders their developments, it is vital for such countries to establish destinations just like the ones that US has established (Banting and Randolph, 46). Similarly, there is need to outsource the management of some of the destination especially that are faced with stiff competition. On their parts, the governments should ensure that revenues generated by the destinations are properly utilized. Additionally, based on the increased threats of terrorism activities and extremists especially in the developing countries which most of them have renowned attraction centers, there is need to maintain high level of security.
