The Smart Technology Assemblage Student’s Name: Grade course: Tutor’s Name: Date: Introduction This essay will discuss the smart technology assemblage as well as the relationship of social media and the online friendships mainly focusing on how this communication has rapidly grown in the recent past (Hassid, 2012). The smart technologies consist of the intelligent agent platforms that are developed so as to meet the requirements of various individuals in the society. The smart technology in form of social media has become an important component in influencing the building up of the friendship online as well as offline. The smart technologies also influences the way in which the society or rather the people interact and the way in which they do their things due to the way they interact with the technologies for instance the smart technologies affects the way the traffic police officer conducts his work through the use of traffic lights as well as the opening of doors to the physically impaired people (Slack & Wise, 2005).There is several relation as well as the actors of the social media assemblage platform which makes up the analytical framework. Therefore, in order to distinguish as well as interpret the social experience which is of a cognitive organization. The smart technologies in the social media assemblage comprises of the technologies, the users, the software process, the social values as well as the social practices (Lierouw & Livingstone, 2006). The smart technology greatly influences the way the people interacts as well as form friendship over the internet that is online as well as offline. The social media assemblage such as Facebook, twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn as well as Instagram allows the people to interact and establish friendship while they are logged in over the internet (Hassid, 2012).When a person wants to sign up as a user in one of the social media platforms, one usually needs to use a personal phone number in case the user is using a mobile phone or a personal email addresses, so that the various social media can be able to fetch the contacts or the list of friends who are contained in the phone book or the email list, hence making the social media platform more convenient in making friends as well as starting a friendship with other people on the social media platforms (Farnsworth & Austrin, 2005). The smart technology in form of social media platforms through the use of the latest technology provides users with a platform, which enables them to get attached with their old friends, get to know new friends, as well as allow other people to get to know them. The users are able to update their personal information, share pictures, blog, share documents, share interests, add comments, share things that are happening in their lives, add themselves to virtual groups so as to be able to share and know the similarity of the things that happened to them in the past as well as be able to interact and share ideas as well as informations which can be bring significant changes in their lives (Ellison, Steinfield & Lampe, 2007). The smart technologies have greatly affected the way the people in various societies interact as well as how they relate to each other. That is the technology affects as well as regulate how people behaves for instance the way people communicates as well as acquires information using the social media platforms. The smart technologies also make peoples to be able to embrace the tasks of delegation so that the technologies are able to perform the tasks that they are supposed to perform (Farnsworth & Austrin, 2005). For instance in order for the smart technologies such as the traffic lights, the Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs), the televisions, the mobile phones, the computers as well as other computer based equipment and appliances, individuals needs to issues certain commands as well as instructions which will enable them to perform the required tasks. Therefore, the smart technologies greatly affect the way in which we mediate as well as the nature of the mediation, the tasks delegated as well as the way in which these smart technologies impinge on us in our daily lives (Good, 2013). The intelligent or the smart technologies have greatly infiltrated the homes, cars, banks, businesses, social interactions as well as the political interactions and relation of the individuals in the society. The users of these smart technologies are able to buy goods over the internet, withdraw as well as deposit money in their bank accounts, buy concert tickets, search data, negotiate meetings, share information as well as search various databases (Jiang, Wang, Huang, Sha, Dai & Zhao, 2010). This is made possible due to the availability of the software which makes it possible for the users to complete these tasks. These smart technologies have been used to make the work of people easier by ensuring that the people are able to do their tasks efficiently and using less effort as possible. The smart technologies enable the people to be able to do away with those tasks that are not quite effective or productive to the daily work that they perform. For instance, the smart technologies have been able to assist the individuals to eradicate certain tasks as well as jobs such as librarians, cashiers, while at the same time making the work easier to perform such as operating the various machines and appliances (Ellison, Steinfield & Lampe, 2007). The smart technologies have also greatly influenced the marketing of things such as the products and services over the internet. There are over 55 million users of the social media in the world today. The Facebook users are estimated to be over 35 million worldwide. These social media users have been targeted by various corporates so as to be able to sell them their products as well as their services (Christensen & Prax, 2012).The corporates therefore, have been able to target these social media users and conduct business with them. Through the use of the social media the individuals have also been able to interact and share informations which are of common interest to them. This way they are able to interact and let their friends know that they are selling various products and services. When they are able to get potential customers or the clients to be able to contact them and get the goods. The clients could come from various parts of the world which the individuals could not have been able to get them if they did not use the social media platforms. The smart technologies have also enabled different individuals to be able to set websites where there able to showcase the various products as well as the services that they are selling (Bucher, 2013).The potential customers are able to access their websites and order their preferred products or services which suits their needs. This way they the sellers as well as the buyers are able to interact and conduct business something which could not have been successful without the use of the smart technologies. The smart technologies have also greatly influenced the social interactions in various societies all over the world by influencing the way people interacts as well as relates to each other. The smart technologies have enabled the people to be able to engage with each other in a different manner than the way the individuals usually interacts with each other without the smart technologies (Jiang, Wang, Huang, Sha, Dai & Zhao, 2010). Through the use of the smart technology, such as the social media, the individuals have been able to share the various informations such as updating their personal information, sharing of pictures, blogging, sharing the documents, share of interests, adding the comments, sharing things and events that are happening in their lives, adding themselves to virtual groups so as to be able to share and know the similarity of the things that happened to them in the past as well as be able to interact and share ideas as well as informations which can be bring significant changes in their lives. They are able to share these informations more quickly, more efficiently, as well as more easily while compared to when they are not using the smart technologies (Christensen & Prax, 2012). The smart technologies such as the social media platforms greatly help the various individuals in creating the sociotechnical establishments of friendship through the management of history of friendship (Jiang, Wang, Huang, Sha, Dai & Zhao, 2010). For instance, the past significant date, birthdays, anniversaries, upcoming events, public holidays so as to maintain a great relationship with the friends. This is usually particularly very useful to the individuals, who have not been communicating for a certain long period of time. They individuals are able to like, comment, favourite, retweet as well as share an activity on a social media platform sites, so as to initiate a conversation, start to contact as well as greet the various friends so as to preserve the friendship reinvigorated at all the times (Wise & Rodriguez, 2013). Friendships require a great continuous nurture as well as care so as to enable the individuals to maintain the relationship strong as well as active at all times. The social media sites can greatly help with the impression management, which can act as a tool to represent the various users, through the adjustment of their personal information, the posting, commented, favourite, the settings as well as tweeting the information that the user could not have been able to access it or been able to see the communication as it happened or when it happened. The social media platforms are mainly used to exchange the personal information, offer timely feedback as well as provide other users with a direct authorisation. This information has been mainly to establish the relationship among the individuals who make use of the social media platforms (Bucher, 2013). The smart technologies have not only provided positive contribution to the way individuals interacts, they also have negatively contributed to the individual’s interaction. The continuous changing of the information that is continuously changing, can lead to confusion among the users of the social media mainly because they are not able to comprehend the way these things or the information are changing (Wise & Rodriguez, 2013).The smart technologies have also contributed to the loss of jobs among the societies. For instance with the coming of the computers the librarians have greatly decreased mainly due to the use of computers to access information and the use of the eBooks. Also the jobs of secretaries, cashiers, among others have been reduced significantly due to the use of the computer aided machines as well as the computers. The smart technologies have also greatly led to the production of e-waste which has become a great significant pollution all over the world (Good, 2013). Conclusion The smart technologies have greatly led to significant changes to the way the individuals interacts, as well as form friendship over the internet that is online as well as offline. The social media assemblage such as Facebook, twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn as well as Instagram allows the people to interact and establish friendship while they are logged in over the internet. That is the technology affects as well as regulate how people behaves for instance the way people communicates as well as acquires information using the social media platforms (Ellison, Steinfield & Lampe, 2007).
