The claims, that iMac makes, are not consistent with its performance. Apple claims to be the most advanced company in terms of the number of applications that are found on their computers. To some extent, it is true too. However, the claims are usually not the truth. An example of this fact is the iMac screens. iMac claims to have the best picture quality in terms of the number of pixels and the size of the LCDs. However, it is noteworthy that the black borders just make the screens appear larger as is the case with many HDTVs. The screens are highly ‘reflective’ and one cannot watch any videos or pictures without ignoring the ‘shadows formed behind.’ So the reality is different from the claims.
It seems that the Apple is concentrating more on the outward display rather than the inner capabilities of the computers. It is a very good thing that the computers provide a varied number of applications and the use of webcams etc. However, the introduction of these is letting the quality of the products to decrease. Derrick’s case is one example. There are many other people who believe that in the previous ten years the iMac has ‘become visibly less of a computer and more of a display. The intricate designs that are shown on the body of the computers are also representative of this fact.
Most importantly, the prices of the apple products are very high and are nothing compared to the prices charged by other companies. It is true that the processors of Apple are better than those of other companies. However, the sky-high prices are not affordable for everyone.  People tend to buy something that is cheap rather than ‘double their price for something faster and bigger.’   ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

Protein Concentration
...DETERMINATION OF PROTEIN CONCENTRATION INTRODUCTION Proteins and their structure Proteins are large organic compounds built from 20 different amino acids. A protein will contain in the range of 50-2000 amino acid residues joined together by a chemical reaction that results in the formation of a peptide link and the release of a molecule of water. With respect to their structure, biochemists often refer to four different aspects: Primary structure, this is, the amino acid sequence (fig. 1) Secondary structure, local interactions held together by hydrogen bonds between the lone pair of electrons of an oxygen atom and the hydrogen attached to a nitrogen atom. The two most common examples are -helix and -sheet (fig....

Liquid Crystal Display
...1. Introduction A liquid crystal display (LCD) is a thin, flat display device made up of numbers of color or monochrome pixels arranged in front of a light source or reflector. The technology has been used for displays in various equipments including pocket calculators, wrist watches, notebooks and televisions. LCDs allow displays to be much thinner than those which use cathode ray tube (CRT) and consume much less power. Being a complex technology, the LCD industry has several knowledge bases including electrical machinery, electron, materials, optics, chemistry, and physics. It is a high cost industry with significant investment required for new entrants. Major...

Concentration Indices
...Concentration Indices Concentration indices are useful ways to analyze scenarios which deal with quantitative analysis of the specific s be it economic market concentration or health equality analysis. Any concentration index is defined with respect to its concentration curve which usually is two dimensional curve having two coordinates of (x, y) as its main parameters. Now we will bring out few of the important concentration indices we use. They are HHI or Herfindahl-Hirschman Index, Gini Coefficient, Concentration Ratio and Lerner's index. Now we discuss about each of them in brief. HHI (Herfindahl-Hirschman Index): We...

Window Display (Pasta)
...December CSR Display: Why We Used Pasta Our project consists of cardboard trees decorated with pasta shapes, hung upside-down over a group of folders. The folders are strewn with leaves fallen from the trees, and the backdrop says “Fall into CSR”. One of the most important but mysterious elements of the piece is our use of pasta on the trees: surprisingly, it represents the concept of nature (which underpins our entire display), comfort, energy and internationalism, and adds an interesting textual element to our piece of art. Our use of pasta highlights our understanding of the SCAMPER model. Beginning with the idea of “fall into CSR”, we wanted to bring together an autumnal atmosphere and a suggestion...

Soil concentration
...Soil Concentration Elemental composition that is found in soils has anomalies leading to plant stress, as well as increased salt concentration (Cl-), and Ca2+ mineral nutrients. The salt concentration found in soil solutions is measured in form of its salinity. The amount of Cl- present in a given soil solution determines its salinity, which is required for proper plant life. Cac2+ is an important mineral nutrient in soil for plant life, but is harmful if in excess. The main cause of soil salinity can be attributed to the water management practices used on a given soil solution. High concentrations of Cl- destabilize membranes and denatured proteins, which is toxic for...

Other modern techniques are also developed such as DNA Pull down Assay, Microplate Capture and DetectionAssay, Electrophoretic Mobility Shift Assay, and more (Pierce Protein Biology Products, 2014). Materials and Methods In this protein analysis, there are various reagents that generally affect the overall assay result. ...Cockpit Display Visual s Introduction The air pathways have become incredibly complex with many aircrafts hovering in the sky. Monitoring these aircrafts may be a problem and therefore the risk of collisions among planes in the tarmac or on air is increasing each day. The airport personnel have to be vigilant about the risks involved. Cockpit display visuals are perhaps the most efficient method of conveying safety and critical information to the pilots while on air. In the event that two airplanes are on the verge of a collision, the cockpit display systems can easily provide an escape path for both planes. The cockpit will inform them the positions to be in order to avoid any encounter...
