Blended learning is considered to be the middle way between those two types of learning. It is characterized by loads of advantages and benefits, which cover the issues and flaws of traditional and e-learning.
It is a well known fact that traditional classroom learning is not effective any more, if it ever actually was. But that is another question to answer. E-learning, even though being highly progressive, also has one huge disadvantage. It completely excludes live conversations, I mean person to person, in real life.
If talking of the blended learning pecularities, there is a number of those.
1. Adaptability
Blended learning is highly flexible, as it combines classroom learning and online tutoring. Thus the material that is hard to comprehend, can be presented in classroom. Everything else can be studied at home with the materials from online platforms.
2. Effectiveness
It provides meaningful studying experience, adapted to various studying needs and individual schedule. Moreover, it can make more students get up-to-speed of studying, as they have plenty of opportunities.
3. Money saving
The cost saving comes from the economy on transfer and missed work. As you plan your schedule yourself, it gets easier to plan own money spendings too.
4. Personalization
Blended learning creates a great possibility of easy shift between online and classroom learning, thus making more room for personal comfort and effectiveness.
5. Expanded reach
As the classroom time is efficiently reduced, more and more people can be reached with the great content and get same studying experience, but with a better cost fraction.
6. Mixing different learning styles
There is a vast variety of teaching and studying styles and methods, and each of them can be used in blended learning, both personally and in group. Bleneded learning provides the best opportunity to mix styles in order to get best results.
