Physical Therapy Essay

Physical Therapy is a profession that I admire for several reasons. Firstly, it is because I had seen its direct impact in my life, during the numerous occasions when I got injured and needed the immediate intervention of physical therapists. Through physical therapy, my pains were numbed, and I was restored to my normal state. I assume that this would never have been as successful or easy as it was if I never received the help of a physical therapist.

My admiration for a profession in physical therapy is also due to the firm belief that it not only saves people’s lives, careers, and futures. I take it to be an essential service in sports activity, where injuries are always the norm. Footballers are always being carried out of football fields for bone fractures and hamstring injury. Athletes also have their share of muscle pulls that literary pull them out of competitions.

Their careers would come to an end if they never had a professional who understands the right way to handle all manner of injuries to recovery. Physical therapy is particularly important when dealing with significant bone fractures and limited mobility. It requires a lot of knowledge and work to help a person without them having to experience excruciating pain or recover with permanent deformities. Physical therapy could be used to avoid such errors in injury management, allowing a person to witness a successful full recovery.

Physical therapy has had a huge impact on sports activity. It has removed fear from people’s minds as sports fanatics are made to believe that injury acquired in any game is easily manageable. This is because of the many sports personalities who have been able to make their return to the sports activity after injury acquired in the game. I can attest to this since I was motivated to become an athlete after witnessing the power of physical therapy on many athletes.

So, my first injury was never a scare since I knew physical therapists would help me to my full recovery. It gave me some calmness amidst the pain and confusion of the moment. It explains why I admire Physical Therapy as a profession and would love to exercise it in sports. I would particularly love to work with athletes as their physical therapist. I understand how important it if for these athletes and sports personalities to receive physical therapy.

Professions like rugby, where physical encounters are the norms of the day, would be dead without physical therapy. I also know that an injured person cannot engage in any physical exercise or activity unless through therapy. Such a person would otherwise be too unfit for sports if he took longer to recover from his injury.

There are many other benefits or impacts attributed to physical therapy as a profession. Other than sports activity, I believe that this profession is crucial for the complete well-being of a person. For instance, it allows people to engage in physical exercise or activity, which is very important to keep them fit and active. Without the physical therapy career, people would likely fall into depression due to permanent injuries. They would also lose their physical fitness when they are made immobile by such injury.

However, physical therapy changes all this as it ensures that everyone is always on their fit, very active, and living vibrant lives. It means that people never have to lose their jobs or livelihoods due to injuries. They can recover from their injuries within a short time and get back to their respective workplaces. People get a chance to continue their physical fitness routines after recovering, allowing them to boost their immunity by avoiding lifestyle diseases like obesity. It assures them of promising careers in whichever career they might be holding.

I am particularly intrigued by physical therapy since most therapists only work regular hours. It gives them a chance to engage in other non-medical activities once they are done with their clients. The freedom experienced is not just in employment but is also witnessed among professional therapists who have their own clinics.

It is so exciting to know that I can work as a professional yet still have time to train myself in sports whenever I am off work. It would also allow me time to attend to other commitments like family gatherings and reunions or a meeting with friends. It allows me to not only care for people but also to look deeper into my well-being as a person.

I am still overwhelmed by the impact of this type of care in the lives of athletes. Without it, athletes would have to wait longer before their physical injury could be healed. Sadly, this wait time could have an adverse impact on their abilities as athletes. Most would gain weight as a result of not being able to engage in physical fitness exercise or activity in preparation for competitions.

Getting back to where they were before the physical injury would have been an uphill task. Some would have even reached their retirement age before recovering from their physical injuries. Fortunately, these sad stories are unheard of, thanks to the specialized care provided by physical therapists.

I cannot venture into a physical therapy profession without the right skills. It is why I intend to enroll in a physical therapy course at the university. I will be able to learn numerous techniques and skills associated with this career through the course. For instance, I will know how to care for people with physical injuries or impact like joint dislocations or knee fractures. I will also have a chance to consider different areas of physical therapy to major in. Being an authority in this career will allow me to command respect and win the right job opportunities.

My short-term goal is to be employed as a physical therapist to care for athletes in a sports club. I will care for athletes even as I do the work of educating them on the most professional ways of avoiding specific physical injury and impact.

However, my long-term goal is to own a clinic that will handle more physical injuries, both by sports and non-sports personalities. I dream of helping as many people as I can through my profession. My curiosity has made me interview different therapists already in this field. One of the therapists had a degree in physical therapy while the other was a recent graduate with qualifications in kinesiology. My interactions with them helped me to understand the challenges associated with this profession.

I got to understand some of the concepts commonly used in the provision of this type of care and ended up creating networks that could help me with my desire to land the first job once I am done with school.

For down, my desire is to be more serious with any Physical Therapy Essay assigned to me. These essays are always important as they allow students to have a deeper understanding of the world and work of physical therapy as it is. At least this is one of the main pieces of advice I received from the interviews.
