Both these games share things in common but they also have many differences. The chief common point they share is that both have teams of 11 players each who have to score their goals by hitting the ball into the opponent’s goal, using any part of their body except their hands. Some of the important contrasts include the playfield for soccer which is 90 and 120 m (100 and 130 yds) long and between 45 and 90 m (50 and 100 yds) wide and for American football is 120 yds (110 m) long and 53 yd 1 ft (48.8 m) wide. While in soccer 11 players serve as goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, and attacker American football has no such clear definitions, so the players have to adapt themselves to different roles.

The balls are also unique to each sport. Soccer employs a round leather ball measuring 68 and 71 cm (27 and 28 in) in circumference, weighing between 396 to 453 g (14 and 16 oz), and American football is played using an extended spheroid with a circumference of 28.5 in (72.4 cm) around the long axis and 21.25 in (54 cm) around the short axis, weighing about 14 to 15 oz (397 to 425 g). Soccer is a 90-minute game divided into 45 minutes each having a break of 15 mins, while in American football the game is divided into four quarters of 15 mins. each. Both these games set the field on fire with excitement and cheer bringing joy into the hearts of trillions of fans making it one of the best sports in the world with no comparison.
