Some of the important contrasts include the playfield for soccer which is 90 and 120 m (100 and 130 yds) long and between 45 and 90 m (50 and 100 yds) wide and for American football is 120 yds (110 m) long and 53 yd 1 ft (48.8 m) wide. While in soccer 11 players serve as goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, and attacker American football has no such clear definitions, so the players have to adapt themselves to different roles.
