The paper “Sakaryaspor - Sports Management at Football Club ” is an inspiring example of a sports & recreation case study. The role of governance has long been witnessed to play a major role for the football clubs across different nations of the world. The football clubs, irrespective of their locations, are encouraged to ensure adequate compliance with the principles of effective governance. The principles associated with an effective governance system should be highly focused on conserving a way that clearly reflects the size along with the structure of the football club (O'Boyle & Bradbury, 2013).

The primary objective of this study is thus to produce a case study of Sakaryaspor Football Association by incorporating its major issues led by the ineffective governance systems and practices. Throughout the discussion, in this case, the role of the governance system along with its size and structure towards the development of the football club, while it was undergoing a major number of complexities in the city, has been emphasized from my personal point of view. The Case Study of SakaryasporSakaryaspor is a renowned football club, functioning for the past five years in Turkey.

The approaches taken by the club have been into debates owing to its rather reluctant approach to form and follow boards. In the general meeting of the club, a handful of members were found absent and unwilling to participate in the strategic decision-making of the club, principally due to the lack of interests of the administrators. Perhaps, it was because of this lack of interest within the administrators that the club could organize only three successful general meetings in the past five years.

It is in this context that with the developments observed in the wider social context, the need for a systematic governance system has become imperative to assure the long-run sustainability of any corporate entity. Certainly, in the absence of a focused and committed board, Sakaryaspor witnesses a major risk of abolition from the Turkish football history in the short run.An emergency general meeting of the club was conducted, following one month of the administration, which was accountable to administer functions of the club.
