Abstract
The society has long held that women are inferior to men leading to pervasiveness associated with gender stereotyping associated with offender sentencing. As a result, men remain discriminated against in offender sentencing with women constantly receiving favorable sentences as compared to men despite having the same criminal backgrounds. In this research paper, aspects related to offender sentencing including differences in motives, gender, and race as well as crime rates between men and women are focused on highlighting the problem. The paper also focuses on the reasons for the disparities while concluding with trying to forge a meeting point.
