However, the author’s work can be faulted for being too much subjective in such a crucial matter as a racial riot. In my view, the matter is so sensitive that the author ought to have looked at the two sides of the coin. There are questions that he has failed to address such as the long-term recommendation and the reaction of the white population. He has instead over-emphasized the account rather than the two races involved.

Alexander in chapter four (The Cruel Hand) informing the readers of his work exactly what it takes to be handled through the legal system and labeled criminal guilty. In a nutshell, the author explores the labeling of criminals just after they get into the correctional facilities and what it cost them, and are forever being condemned to second-class citizenship of the blacks. He r supports his claims using the War of Drugs era using the Crow system as an analogy. Likewise, her claims are majorly based on opinion and make it difficult and this makes the work less reputable.

The claims would have been rather supported by a poll of quantitative data that would assumedly have witnesses testimony bearing issues of racial discriminations are a matter of public concern.
