Download file to see previous pages As a result, middle and high-end private nursing homes in Beijing seek to bridge the gap in offering high quality nursing services at a rate that most people can afford. Due to inadequacy of service delivery in most facilities, this report explores the strategies that can be implemented in order to improve the quality of life of the elderly. Furthermore, government polies related to improvement of the state of the private nursing homes in Beijing will also be addressed. The results of this paper are important in shedding more light on how developing countries can improve the state of their private nursing homes.
China has a very high population which accounts for nearly a quarter of the world’s population. As a developing country, it faces major aging challenges. Data from the sixth population census in 2010 indicated that china has an estimated population of 180 million of elderly people. This population exceeds the percentage of all elderly people in the developed countries. 10% of the Chinese population is made up of elderly, marked above 65 years (China Population Census, 2010). This percentage is fast increasing and the government is under pressure to implement policies that ensure an improvement in Chinese Nursing Homes to improve the senior’s satisfaction in life speed (China Statistical Year book, 2013). The ratio of the elderly people trending from 2010 to 2050 is shown below.
There are numerous reasons why the Chinese government should formulate government policies that are aimed at helping the aging population. First, the China is a developing country that have achieved great economic achievement due to the devotion of the elderly in nation building.
