Wilson’s Article on Tribalism Tribalism refers to the act of inclination towards respective tribes. Tribalism is in most cases related to the stereotypes. Stereotyping segregates races thereby creating discrimination and enmity among different tribes. Pan-Africanists like Malcolm X believed in liberal nation states, which imply that races were bound together irrespective of their tribes. Particularly, I belong to the Arapaho tribe one of the tribes critically stereotyped as the great buffalo hunters of the plains.

This is one of the major setbacks of racial segregation as each and every tribe through stereotyping believes they are ethnocentrically superior to the other tribes. This research paper explains the future of tribalism in America. In Malcolm X’s autobiography, tribalism emerges in this leader’s call for equal distribution of wealth throughout the country. Malcolm advocated for equality and unity among the different races, which resulted into his cold blood death (Wilson, 2004). During this period, each person in the United States had already identified themselves as more superior than the other tribes.

The two major races that are the black and white races were at loggerheads with one another thus affecting the way this nation was being run socially, politically and economically. The marginalized communities were greatly undermined in terms of wealth distribution and development (Wilson, 2004). Though Malcolm X was a liberator, tribalism in the United States had already gained roots thus mitigating it was almost impossible. In summary, tribalism is at its peak in the society. It has emerged to be a global problem today.

For instance, tribalism is highly evident in the political arena majorly in the United States. The U.S. President is black, but every policy adopted by his administration is highly critiqued by the other races and tribes. ReferencesWilson, E. O. (2004). On human nature.
