It has been debated that disintegrating effects of alcohol intake has been inferred by society. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the social factors that have been regarded as influential to the trends of alcoholism among members of society. It is important to note that alcoholism has become a generally accepted fact in our society nowadays. For majority of people, drinking alcohol is not a big deal whether in a function or any other meeting. It will not be incorrect to state that children in every society have become aware of drinking habits in a very tender age. A child in a pre-school is more likely to understand what alcohol means because of the influence of parents who fail to avoid alcohol intake in front of their children. It can be said that this is the failure of present age parents which has led into a poor health and lifestyle of children (Littrell, 1991). The trends of in-take of alcoholism is not just limited to teenagers who might be drinking in order to follow the so-called fashionable trends of alcoholism as way to prove themselves as socially acceptable. Older adults can also be considered as a people affected by trends of alcoholism. It has been noted that older people are more likely to drink because these individuals become financially strong to a great extent by their older age. They become more capable of spending on alcohol buying (Tischler, 2006). Media has also played their negative roles in enhancing the idea that alcoholism can allow individuals to forget about all the miseries. It is for this reason that most of the middle-aged men and women are involved in alcoholism in-take because they believe that they are undergoing a great deal of miseries. Media channels such as movies, songs etc. have projected alcholismm have a fashion. Most of the people would be involved in alcoholism because they have their role models who are involved in alcohol intake (Jarapa & Perez, 1997). Nowadays, it has also been noted that children are involved in games such as Beer Pong, Pass Out etc. which have led children to get aware of the alcohol substance. This creates a difficult mind set of these players, provoking them to indulge in such activities in daily routine. This is similar to media effect on children which is basically giving rise to awareness of alcoholism among youngsters. The next step of such an influence would be clumsy attitude and drug abuse (Jarapa & Perez, 1997). Researchers have often considered environmental effect to be adverse on humans. This means that a person will develop the need or desire of drinking alcohol in a day. There are a number of factors that would continue to affect the psychology of a person. As noted above, there could be a great deal of fear in a human’s mind regarding social acceptance. It has been noted that many people consider that it is a necessity for a person to become immune to excessive alcohol in take because social gatherings include alcoholism as an important activity (Tischler, 2006). Also, availability of alcohol has become another reason which had affected the trends of alcoholism. It can be said that there are many countries where alcohol is illegal. But the measure of people who are involved in alcoholism will be equal to that of countries where alcoholism is freely allowed. If alcohol becomes easy to buy then it is probable that member of society will become more prone to alcoholic intake (Littrell, 1991). It has also been noted that youngsters would also be involved in alcoholic intake because of a family history where alcohol intake was high. Social interactions at home with family members seem to be highly influential. Thus, when children get across their parents and get to see them drinking then the child is more likely to inhibit similar behavior of drinking alcohol (Jarapa & Perez, 1997). It should be noted that gene transmission is another aspect of alcoholism factor. It should be noted that genes that transfer metabolism of alcohol put children to become on risk of consuming alcohol. The dependency of these children becomes more rigid on alcohol intake (Tischler, 2006). Another profound and common factor is lack of association among members of society. Some people would drink alcohol because they do not have any one helpful enough to tell them as to what negative effects can alcohol drinking have on their health. I n most of the cases, it has been noted that there is some sort of psychological impact on individuals that lead them to become dependent on alcohol (Littrell, 1991). Peer pressure is another factor that has greatly put an impact on youngsters in a negative manner. It has become mandatory for the teenagers to drink with friends because alcohol is always provided at the parties which are accessibly freely. If teenagers are exposed to excessive drinking at the early age then there are chances that would become heavily drinkers in the old age (Jarapa & Perez, 1997). Through the above analysis, it could be said that alcoholism has prevailed in the society because of social interactions among member who have actually failed to understand the consequences of alcoholic intake. As studied above, alcoholism is a trend which has been inferred in the previous generation as well which has become evident in the present generation in a prominent manner. It is mainly because of media persuasion towards drinking as a fashionable able account. Teenagers have found out alcohol intake as a way to become socially desirable. Old aged people think that intake of alcohol will allow them to get away from all the miseries. Thus, it becomes very significant that members of the society provide rehabilitation services and media should change the view of people and spread awareness regarding dangerous impact of alcohol drinking.
