Understanding cultural, ethnic, and gender differences in the business setting affiliation Understanding cultural, ethnic, and gender differences in the business setting. Over the years, diversity in organizations is more than a taste of it but it has become a mandatory feature in all organizations. Maturity in managing organizations has given fairness when it comes to employment not dwelling on someone’s culture, religion, ethnic or gender, but considering one professional qualification. Globally, managers and business heads have been looking for ways to understand and embrace different employee personalities in an organization.

Needle (2010) argues that managers have understood the necessity to come to terms with both individual and team differences, and how much the differences affect the organization. Understanding and dealing with diversity in an organization reflects positively on the organization's goals (William, 2010). Organizations achieve their set goals through teamwork which is brought about by a healthy employee relation. Working with a divided staff is as little as doing no business at all. Managers have the responsibility of bringing together their staff to implement their decisions and skills.

Comprehending the employees’ differences when it comes to culture, gender and religion motivate employee oneness in an organization. Employee motivation is a trait any business head keeps in their achievement list. William (2010) argues that respect between employees creates an environment suitable and comfortable to work for all in the organization. Employee empowerment is a tool used by managers or corporate heads to level all diversities. All employees regardless of their age, culture, gender or race should be involved in the process of decision making.

This ensures that all diversities are represented with respect and appropriately. This also gives the employees responsibility to be able to prove themselves as assets to the company. This creates a respectful and at the same time a hardworking staff force. Conclusively, ethics diversity in an organization could facilitate the diverse staff to work collectively in a more cordial manner towards attaining their general goals. In this instance, it is important that managers make the most of the input of each and every member of the organization in order to ensure fair handling for all regardless of background.
