In spite of the fact of morality, a woman has the right to privacy and the choice to abort her fetus. The populaces that hold a "pro-life" approach argue that a woman who has an abortion is killing a child. The "pro-choice" viewpoint holds this is not the case. A fetus is not up till now a baby. It does not have the criteria consequent from the understanding of living human beings. "Nations around the world have adopted laws that protect women's right to choose abortion."1 "Life and Liberty for Women is not afraid or ashamed to speak of and defend a woman's right to have an abortion through the second trimester of pregnancy.

"2 "Abortion is every woman's right"3 "The Central Issue in the abortion debate is the humanity of the fetus. No other consideration is decisive. Indeed the opponents of abortion rest their entire case on a single argument: If the fetus is a human being, then abortion is murder."4 The statement "Abortion is every woman's right" is significant to the study since Abortion is a right, and all rights are utter so cannot be "balanced" away. Therefore, a pregnant woman, like all other persons, has the right to find out her own fate and the fate of her body, to decide what comprises her own best concern and private happiness, and to work for its achievement, so long as she respects the same rights in others.

"Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers pledged support in 1989 for a constitutional amendment banning abortions except when necessary to save the life of the mother."5 "The Supreme Court Wednesday ruled anti-abortion protesters cannot be prosecuted simply for blocking clinic doors and other disruptive behavior."6 "Why is Abortion so wrong and murder even"7 "Bible prohibits abortion"8In my opinion the discussion over abortion has moved outside the stream of the "normal" political process and has influenced us into bitter social discord.

To be sure, morally sensitive people on both sides of the political controversy seek to minimize its vitriolic quality. Even so, a not unimportant number of persons opposed to legal abortion have moved beyond the "art" of politics as persuasion to coerce those who seek abortions. The bombing of abortion clinics has occurred; those wanting access to abortion have found facilities blocked by angry pickets; telephone harassment of those who have had abortions has been widespread. And if antiabortion politics succeed, numerous women, believing they have the right to determine whether to bear children, will turn to acts of civil disobedience -- that is, they will seek illegal abortions.

Since women's lives are rarely understood to have profound public import, few identify that prior to legalized abortion socially aware women often understood themselves to be engaged in serious acts of political resistance. Be that as it may, anti-abortionists and many women experience the current situation as a genuine state of civil war.
