Often we strive towards achieving various goals but every goal according to Emerson should merge with Nature to make it meaningful and beautiful. If the goal is seen as an end in itself, then it becomes "mean and squalid" and rendered futile. In the same breath, the writer aptly compares property and wealth to snowfall and says "it is fall level today, it will be blown into drifts tomorrow". It is so significant and relevant because Nature is constantly changing, it is dynamic and as a result, all things seem transient.

The importance of the Mind has been stressed upon too. The Mind is capable of visualizing and thus re-creating the same image. Few of us realize the huge capability our Minds are blessed with. At the same time, one should not misuse this capability by thinking ill about others. It should be utilized for purposes to help the growth of Nature and help in blending other objects of the world in it."A thing is good as far as it serves a purpose", beyond that it becomes meaningless and ugly. All our actions should culminate in results that can feel a peaceful and serene oneness with Nature.

To lead our life according to the Designs of Nature we need a number of material commodities and it is absolutely essential that we go right out there to get them but the desire to get them should not be insatiable because this causes stress in our minds which in turn drifts away from the Divine. In this context, the writer feels that all learning should be comprehensive. It should not be a stand-alone, it actually should infuse the learning for achieving ends along with lessons for oneness with the Divine, and else all learning becomes gross like "the corn and meat theory".

Human being has been created superior with Speech and capability to think and therefore should make all efforts to achieve to blend with Nature; it will definitely add a new dimension to our existence. At times this needs special vision, Xenophanes in his old age saw everything leading to the same Unity. If we look at things with the vision of great thinkers, undoubtedly there is going to be peace tranquility in our minds which in turn will bring about our oneness with Nature.
