According to American Psychological Association, research studies by psychologist Albert Bandura revealed that aggressive behavior of the children was due to watching of violent acts on television and movies i.e., learning by watching called as Social Learning.
According to Media Awareness Network in 1963 professors A. Badura, D. Ross, and S.A. Ross conducted a study by exposing the first group of children to real-world violence, second group of children to television violence, third group of children to cartoon violence and fourth group watching nothing. Later all the groups were exposed to a frustrating situation and the results showed that first and second groups reacted aggressively to the situation in comparison to the third group. This establishes a connection between media violence and aggression.
