The Truth about My Pregnancy The day I found out I was pregnant was one of the most wonderful days of my life. I felt elated and very different. I did not find out that I was pregnant at the doctor's clinic. Instead, I used one of those pregnancy tests. The pregnancy tests are easy and simple to use. I can still remember the shock on my face as I told my fiance that we were going to have a child. When I told my mother, she highlighted the difficulties of pregnancy and how I would have to become more responsible and serious from this day on.

Soon my life began to change. I felt different from inside and my body started behaving differently. I suffered from severe morning sickness, always feeling nausea and vomiting. My doctor told me it was because of the hormonal changes in my body due to the pregnancy. But by the fourth month, the morning sickness was gone and I felt much better. It was also sometimes very funny as I made my family crazy because the smell of tuna would make me throw up and I had craving for particular food like chicken, mango and oranges.

Every hour I would make a new demand and they would have to run around fulfilling my demands. Even my usually docile temperament went through a radical change. I would get angry at every little thing and for no reason, I would suddenly start crying. It was as if I had no control over my feelings. My doctor told me it was normal and that it happened to almost every woman. I felt very cranky and depressed. I would get tired quite easily and I was constantly worried about the health of my child and hoped that everything went smooth.

I saw my body get larger and larger. I could feel my arms, ankles, hips everything going bigger and bigger. I had terrible back pain in the middle and the right side of my body throughout the day and even at night. It was a nightmare going to sleep. I also had regular headaches but I soon got used to it and realized that it was all part of pregnancy and that pregnancy is a wonderful experience which I should cherish. Initially I did not want to find out the sex of my child but then everyone advised me that I would be better prepared for the arrival of the baby if I knew whether it was a boy or a girl.

I wasn't even sure what I wanted, a boy or a girl. I had already felt my baby move in the seventeenth week of my pregnancy and was always wondering whether it was a girl or a boy kicking me inside. In my eighteenth week of pregnancy, my doctor told me through an ultrasound test that I was going to have a boy. I was ecstatic. My fiance and my family was gloriously happy and I began to wait eagerly for my boy's arrival. I prepared myself quite adequately for labor. I signed up for Lamaze classes.

I found it a wonderful learning experience. It greatly reduced my fear of the day I will actually have to deliver my child. These classes thought me breathing and relaxation exercises and how to handle the pain. The day finally arrived. It was a Sunday of June and my fiance and parents rushed me to the hospital. The contractions made me scream with pain. My doctor put me on epidural. Finally, holding my fiance's hand, I delivered my baby body. I closed my eyes in exhaustion once it was over.

To this day, I can never forget that experience. I still have stretch marks on my belly reminding me of that day and I have my baby boy in my arms giving me a glorious feeling of having nurtured him inside me for a complete nine months and seeing him looking at me with those cute brown eyes.
