Abstract The public and policy makers have been concerned with media violence and their impact on the children. Psychological studies indicate that there is probability of short-term and long-term violent and aggressive behavior in children who spend most time watching media violence on TV. The overall findings are consistent even if the research base were large, that is, different methods, samples and even different types of media. The most extensively researched area is that of television, video games, and film violence because they are the ones commonly found in m homes.
Short-term exposure increases the probability of verbal, aggressive behavior, aggressive emotions, and thoughts. Long-term research has revealed that exposure to media violence may be a cause of aggressive behavior later in life such as spouse abuse. Psychologists have proposed that children usually identify themselves to violent media persona, love them, and eventually copy their violence; in most cases, they are likely to grow with this violence in them. Aim This paper is intended to investigate how the media violence influences children.
Psychological and mental influence of different types of media will be discussed. . The raters who did not have the idea of the type of film the children had watched observed the children while playing.
