Poverty always exists in societies whether the society is affluent, advanced in technology, or just the modern one. Class status normally affects individuals objectively, for example, an individual’s education, not forgetting health and lifestyle. Loury, Glenn C. Ethnicity, Social Mobility, and Public Policy: Comparing the US and UK. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2005. Print. The author states that, in most cases, the inequalities are normally widespread in classes such as the poor, the middle class, and even the youth.

In addition to this, this aspect affects minority groups more than any other people within the United States. Many Americans believe in moving ahead and succeeding even amid recession issues. Most of these people are optimistic and hardworking people. However, unemployment has been observed within lower ranks including the middle class and the poor (Loury, 2005, 522). The poor, the middle class, and the young may lag because of the inability to access resources. The degree of mobility always makes poor households move out of this class.

The statement of this research proposal is to answer questions regarding social inequality in the United States as well as answer some factors that cause social inequality between people. As has been stated earlier on, social inequality is known to be a conflicting status that occurs in society about individuals. Most of society’s inequality is attributed to the class status of a given group, which is determined by the race or ethnicity of the group (Macionis & Gerber, 201).

The conflict attempts to understand the conflicts of the group which might occur by the protection of individual status at the cost of the other.  The impact of social inequality in the United States seems to be frequently minimized, although it still exists. Inadequate distribution of wealth remains “an important component” of the United State’s social inequities (Macionis & Gerber, 196).  All those are some of the factors that lead to social inequalities. United State’s social classes are divided into different parts, and there is no equal distribution of wealth.

Among the divided classes, some people are the working poor, since, their income is not enough for adequate food or shelter. One of the deciding factors that have been determining wealth, power, and social status in the United States is occupational prestige (Macionis & Gerber, 168). Research has shown that most Americans are in poor health, and this affects all groups of people. However, the effect is severe for tribal and ethnic minorities within the United States.

Moreover, the minority are the least people who are insured and have lesser access to quality healthcare services than other Americans. The issue above may be aggregated by income, insurance coverage, and level of education (Mead et al. 2008). However, women in the United States tend to earn less than their counterparts males. This has been connected to the work that has to be done (Azmon, 2003, 105). Jobs done by women have been confirmed to be paying less than those done by men, and this brings the difference in the level of income (Chant, 2010, 418).
