Traditional views suggest that these changes reduce cultural diversity and minimize the risk of misunderstanding and equalizing people while many others hold converse views. Opposite opinion reflects that as people from different cultures encode and decode the same messages in different ways, this it increases the chance of misunderstanding or misinterpretation, which may include misunderstanding human rights, their values, and needs. Moreover, making assumptions and/or taking actions based on such misunderstanding would yield ineffective or sometimes destructive results.
Many organizations, especially multinationals, encounter communication problems in their day-to-day business, as they need to communicate with internal & external people on a daily basis. On the other hand, researchers are of the opinion that apart from other factors, effective communication plays a pivotal role in the success of an organization. Therefore, a need arises to focus on rationalizing these communication deficiencies critically. Besides these more needs to be done by means of educating people regarding different background, cultures, religions, customs, etc.
enabling them to better absorb and understand the ways and style of communication prevailing in different cultures.
