Technological and industrialization have brought about many changes in the working lives of individuals in society. The issue of whether technological and industrial development has led to the increase or decrease of employment opportunities is a complex one. This is because to some economies it has led to the creation of more employment opportunities while to others it has led to unemployment. The impacts of technological and industrial development on employment opportunities are clearer in the field of gender. It has led to the distinction between housework, which is unpaid, and production labor, which is paid. The process of industrialization has called for the need for an educated and technically skilled workforce. Human capital investment has increased with industrialization and technological development. Accelerating economic change has led to greater job mobility. Individuals are likely to change their careers a number of times during the course of their working lives. Individuals increasingly moving from one organization to another or from the rural areas to the city in search of better jobs, what we call internal migration. Individuals are also migrating from one country to another in search for better opportunities. Labor rights and conditions have also been established to prevent employees from exploitation. Child labor has remained a major problem in developing countries associated with industrialization.

Mau Tse-tung: On practice

Human productivity is the fundamental practice that determines all other human activities. The other forms of man’s social practice include class, struggle, and political life, scientific and artistic activities. Human knowledge arises from practice and in turn, this knowledge influences practice. Knowledge emanates from direct experience. Rational knowledge depends upon perpetual knowledge. Knowledge depends upon an intensified process, the epistemology dialectics.
