The paper "Public Confidence in the Policing Services of the Emirates of Abu Dhabi" is a great example of a social science literature review. A literature review gives an account of what has been written down and published on a certain topic by scholars and researchers who are fully accredited by professional bodies. In this paper, the literature review is about public confidence in policing services in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It gives an account of what has been published on this topic by various accredited scholars and researchers. The literature review should be organized and should be related to the thesis which is being developed, it should also synthesize the results obtained into a summary of what has been known and what is not known, it should also identify the areas that bring controversy in the literature and also formulate various questions that may call for further research.

The literature review discussed below is in line with improving public confidence to the policing services of U.A.E, specifically the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The U.A.E was established not so long ago, on the 2nd of December 1971. It is basically a federation composed of 7 different monarchies which include the Emirates of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Ras al-Khaimah, Fujairah, Umm al-Qaiwain and Sharjah. Each of these Emirates is led and governed by a Sheikh and a single national president. Since its establishment, the U.A.E has seen a lot of expansions in terms of developments in national, economic and industrial sectors. This has been witnessed during the last three decades. In a report published in 2014 by the Edelman Trust Barometer, the U.A.E was ranked top in terms of public faith and confidence in the governments and its agencies and the rate was at 88 percent, higher than the other 26 nations ranked which included the UK, the United States, Singapore and Germany. This research focuses on the Emirate of Abu Dhabi which is one of the Emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates but for the literature review, information, reports and conclusions are retrieved from other parts of the world. This will help in researching the specific part of the U.A.E.
