The right of “free speech” is allowed to everyone that whatever one like to express with others. Unluckily, the negative waves of abusing, gender discriminations, rules violations, physical violation, lesbian, drug addictions, gays, and other such like activities are getting popularity amongst the college students. The negative activities are destroying the image of positive expressions, and the “freedom of speech” is of them in the colleges of America and in some more countries. Bad speech codes are offending the “free speech” rights by the implementation of new rules and regulations. Now the universities have to take steps by speaking loudly against the bad speech codes to save the societies for healthy activities very freely. It is the duty of human organisations to arrange the workshops and forums to aware the people/students against bad speech codes by favouring the free speech rights. There should be monitoring teams to keep an eye on the bad students, who hurt others in terms of human violation (ACLU, 1994). At this time, there are two most developed countries that are China and America. It is the best idea to analyse the educational system of the both countries to conclude the final results. Structure vice, the Chinese educational institutes are totally different to the American schools. In Chinese schools, the educational time is very long rather than American schools. Some Chinese schools are open from 7am to 8pm daily and the average time for school students is about 4 to 6 hours per day (Rybak, 2009). The comparison of Chinese and American educational system is very important as the students will have to play their major roles in the society. Educational system actually describes the direction of the system. In America, the Democratic parties are in the favour and also ordered of free speaking right for everyone by following only an education system to encourage the students for freedom of expression freely. In China, there is a system of Autocratic government that emphasis on respect and obedience very strictly. It is a reality that China has achieved many more advancements in every social, economic, and the political sectors. Every successful Chinese got education from the institutions, where free speech codes were not allowed to become a decent and useful citizen for the country’s developments (Rybak, 2009). There is another difference in the Chinese and the American institutes to teach the way of information delivery, which shows the speaking behaviours of the students. In America, much more concentration is given to the personal experience discussions, dialogues, group discussions, and the debates in the presence of teaching staff. On the other hand, in China, only the teacher manages to handle the class by delivering the lectures, and the students’ participation is only to listen quiet (Rybak, 2009). My arguments The speech codes violate the right of free speech. We should allow student speak their mind on campus because the first amendment protects the idea of free speech. According to the First Amendment, there should be distinguished identities amongst different communities, which is the right of everyone to show his real culture or his bilingual language. Supporting argument of my idea It is common observation that the students do not speak enough in the class room until they are called on by the instructor. Sometimes the students do not get frank with their instructors due to lack of understanding, and sometime the instructor does not try to be frank with them and just keep busy in his daily life duties. Mostly those students are get punished in the classrooms who does not speak a lot, and are considered as dull students but their main issue is lack of speech understanding. In mostly educational institutes, the instructors are free to address the class in their traditional speaking style that impacts negatively on the students’ learning process as they do not understand something new to face the international challenges in the future. The instructor should be well-educated to learn the efficient knowledge for the student as their parents spend enough for their educational terms to become a useful citizen. It is clear that the speech codes have the ability to improve the current system as well as the speech codes can worsen the system if the general aspects are ignored (Volokh, 2002) . Counter argument The right of “free speech” is not favourable by those people who are religious, caring or very peaceful. Especially the women are very sensitive about their children to not mix up with the bad people. Mothers also do not like the films and videos, which have dirty or porno content. As a journalist, Susan Jacoby analysed that all the women are in favour of open liberalisation in the society, especially totally against to the obscenity issue. Many women have been protesting against the vulgarity in the society and shameless contents in the forms of movies, dramas, clubs, etc. these women are worried due to open and vulgar society is damaging the ethics of the society and negatively impacts on the children’s minds. For the sake of a healthy and fresh minded society, there is the need of censorships on vulgar contents from everywhere (Jacoby, 1978) . Rebuttal of counter argument Although the mothers of the students do not like the freedom of speech in sense of vulgarity, but confidence is the key step for the efficient growth of the students. Michelle Obama expressed the benefits of free speech to the student of Perking University in China. She said to the students to use internet for universal knowledge by using the right of free speaking ability, which makes the country stronger. On the other hand Michelle Obama liked the education system of China rather than other countries, which proves the efficiency of Chinese education system (Guardian, 2014). It is an alarming situation that the speech codes have become the biggest scandals in the colleges, as the students are becoming more offensive for their self respect or by teasing others. So, many universities are banning the free speech codes for a peaceful environment (Lukianoff, 2012).Free speaking codes are not ever beneficial to boost the confidence of the students; if the cases of violence or harassments arise then there should be restrictions to the out spoken people. Speech codes include symbolic and verbal words that can hurt someone very seriously or the conflicts of violence arise very rapidly in the society. In America, thousands of teens have committed suicide acts due to bullying or in other words “freedom of speech”. Sometimes gender discriminations hurt some people, such as Black and Asians do not get respect from Europeans and Americans and face the situations of abusing and insult many times (Bedau, 2005). If the negative use of “free speech” does not stop, then there will be many restrictions which can cause to influence some healthy activities; such as restricted political speeches, no zones for free speech, unhealthy harassment policies, funding for discriminations, etc (Bonilla, 2012). Now days, many universities have been trying hard to end up the tension of bad speech codes through discussions for many years. Many incidents have been occurred by students’ conflicts through showing superiority or inferiority cases by the hosts of guests’ student in the foreign universities. Some universities have introduced the rules and regulations against these kinds of conflicts and some universities have given the free hand by permitting the use of open speech codes. It is expecting that after a few years, the issue of bad speech codes in the institution will be resolved with the help of intellectuals’ efforts (Bok, 1991) Conclusion Students should go to college to get education, not to hurt anyone. “Freedom of Speech” should be only through political forums, etc. but not by the student. Although government officials and college administrations are doing allot to end up the conflicts due to “freedom of speech”, but there is an organisation that is working for human rights by analysing the worst conditioned colleges. “Foundation for Individual Rights in Education” (FIRE) has been researching on the reasons of “bad codes speech” and found that the public colleges and the public universities are more involved in this abusive matters. In those colleges the problems of bad speech codes were less, where the students are punishes very quickly for their faults (Lukianoff, 2012). References ACLU, 1994. Hate Speech on Campus.
