Introduction Over the years, the issue of gay marriage has been regarded as one of the controversial and it made it to the forefront of the all nationwide headlines. The referred issue was regarded previously as the taboo subject. It was beforehand discussed only in to gay community. The unfair disadvantage was held for the gay couples as they are denied to get married. This disadvantage was solely due to their sexual orientation. Every homosexual has the equal rights and they have every right to be loved. The gay marriage should be allowed as they have the every right as people who are heterosexuals. This issue has been supported by most of the people in society. But there are also some people who are against the legalization of gay marriage. This issue has been widely debated all over the world. This essay will discuss about the legalization of gay marriage. Thesis statement “The issue of gay marriage must be legalized as gay couples have the same right in society and these couple can create a virtuous grounded family”. Discussion The right provided by the government is regarded by most of the people that they deserve it. The people who pay their taxes abide by the laws that are initiated by the government deserves the every right of equality. The upstanding citizen deserves the every right provided by the government of country. But these equal rights are not applicable to the gay couples. Despite being the upstanding citizen of countries, they are denied to get married. The gay marriage is regarded as the illegal event. This event of denial of gay marriage is regarded by gay couples as the biased disadvantage. This debate of gay marriage was obsolete in earlier days. As they feel safe to be silent spectator and control their desire and emotions. But over the years, gay couples are no longer silent spectator. They expressed their desire and come out to fight against their sexuality choices. But the approval legalization of gay marriage is not accepted by many people. One of the examples of counterclaims is the denial of any claims regarding gay marriage by former prime minister of Australia Kevin Rudd. Former prime minister denied the comments about legalization of gay marriage to equality campaigner of marriage Geoff Thomas and Medical association head of Australia Kerryn Phelps. During the time of being prime minister, Kevin Rudd have commented on the legalization of issue and also given the word in favor of gay marriage. But after resignation of post of prime minister, all the claims that were initiated against Kevin Rudd were denied and refused. And in contemporary to the claims, Kevin Rudd also adds that it is pure politics from the successor. Another counterclaim was circulating of gay marriage legality on the members of Tasmanian Upper House. The legal opinion has been circulated by the group of Australian Christian. The opinion is circulated which claims the legalization of gay marriage (Girgis 21). This claim created by Australian Christian would be unconstitutional on the time of vote. But it has been claimed by the Constitutional law expert of Australia that the issue that is being evolved has been settled. The legalization of gay marriage is regarded as the controversial issue and many people refuted the argument. The renewed interest in gay marriage has created a national debate about its validation. The statement of authorization of gay marriage is proved to be false or wrong. Traditionally, the marriage is defined between woman and man. The marriage of a man and a woman is regarded to be as old as the introduction of book of Genesis. The union of man and woman and rearing of children in a unified family has been involving in centuries. The legalization of same-sex marriage can create a huge setback on the traditional institution of marriage. The divorce rate of after marriage is higher to 40%. In the year 2008, it has been surveyed that more than 40.6% of babies are born to mothers who are not yet married (Fleming 37). The legalization can further weaken the institution and increase the rate of divorce. The redefinition of marriage by the addition of gay marriage can create an emotional intensity and only think that can set apart marriage is the bonds between the couples. Over the past decade, the reason behind the weakening of marriage was solely due to desire of adults of having physical relationship rather than desire of having the need of children. The legalization can further weaken the marriage. Allowing gay marriage can potentially lead to slippery slope. Slippery slope in the sense it can lead to springboard of other nontraditional relationship. Some of the nontraditional relationships are incestuous, polygamous and bestial. The legalization can open the floodgates of other non-traditional relationship which can eventually hamper the society and weaken the institution of traditional marriage. Some might say that more children can be adopted by gay couples and can benefit the future of children. But it is not an optimum environment for children to grow. Every child needs the love of mother and father. These can create future complication in the society. Children who are adopted by the gay couples can be bullied in their school lives. This can create huge negative psychological impact on the mind of children about the parents this can only hamper the relationship rather than providing any advantage. The utmost dreadful experience is faced by the girls who are adopted. Gay couples adopting girls as their child can increase the rate of sexual activity. This can eventually lead to escalation in teenage pregnancy. Every child needs mothers to give then unique advice and emotional security which cannot be provided by the gay couples. Recent survey also reveals the drawbacks of gay marriage as it can create negative influence on children. The adoption of children by gay parents can eventually transform and bring homosexual behavior on children. It can also be assumed that marriage is privilege for every heterosexual couples but it is not a right. People can support and endorse certain type of arrangement for the gay couples but they do not get the same benefits and support from society than that of heterosexual couples. Gay couples cannot produce children and eventually it can lead to the increase in child adaptation (Rauch 92). According to many religious groups, the marriages of gay couples are incompatible towards any religious sentiments, traditions and beliefs. This can hamper the religious belief adopted by many people in the society. The marriage of gay couples can harm the mentality of other children. Children due to the increase in social media sites can gain knowledge about gay marriage and might result to change in their sexual orientation. Despite having some negative aspects of legalization of gay marriage, it does not create any negative impact towards and society and community. The legalization of gay marriage would not harm the straight marriages. Many opponents of gay marriage fail to deliver the answer about the negative impact of the argument. But the reality reveals that the legalization would not create any adverse impact. There is blatant discrimination towards the gay couples as they do not have the right to claim their social security of the dead partner. This is the most disturbing about the life of gay couples. The lifelong gay partner cannot claim the survival benefit. Every working citizen including gay pays survival benefit in to the social security system for the benefit of country. This proves the fact that every citizen must have the right to claim benefit of their deceased partner. The gay couples pay to help public schools and build roads for the betterment of the economy of country. Same as that of heterosexual couples, gay couples should be offered same right so that they could live together. Same-sex couples feel it is best to hide behind the doors without showing their relationship. This is mainly due to the fact that they are scared due to legal recognition and social injustice that they have to go through. Most of the people believe that gay marriage is not ideal for parenting. But this notion has been nullified by the study that was conducted in the year 2002 in American Academy of Pediatrics Committee (Farrelly 45). The conducted study proves that, there is no significant difference in the child raised by the heterosexual parents and gay couples. The denial of two people to spend their lives together is not ethically correct. Marriage between two people not only means that they are eligible for recognition from the society, it also means the expression of love for couple. For more than 600 years, homosexual relationships existed. Researchers found out that person born with homosexual behavior cannot do anything to change it. As it comes from birth and people does not have the power to change their faith. It has been proved by researchers that homosexual behavior does not come from choice. Therefore, it is not fair for gay people to be treated differently from others due to their sexual orientation. Every people have their own right to live their life. Nobody has right to take their happiness due to sexual orientation which is not by their choice. Some of the Politicians believe that marriage is pivotal for every community and it should be religious thing. This resembles the fact that some of the politicians deny the legislation of gay marriage. The pivotal reason for the denial of legalization of gay marriage is the Bible. But the reality is quite different, as gays are loyal and devoted to their partners. Gays are much more secure than that of normal people. They are committed towards the community and neighborhood to make the place much safer and better to live. The legalization can also help to reduce the spread of sexual transmitted virus. The gay marriage can effectively lead to reduction of promiscuous sex. The social benefits of legalization can be denied as it can help to increase the child adoption, upsurge social stability. There is no evidence to prove that children living with gay couples are less healthy (Kant 48). Many of the children are staying with gay parents and are healthier than ever before. The most pivotal part for the growth of every child is the care and love rather than heterosexual parents. Psychically and psychologically the legalization can benefit the health of gay couples. Happy married couples are much healthier physically than that of single people. There are several evidences which prove the fact that legalization of gay marriage does not affect the community. It is rather right of gay couples to live their life happily with their partners. In the earlier days, Christian Church was not against the legalization of gay marriage or homosexuality. The Christians in earlier times were mostly made of Romans and they are more open about sexuality. The gay couple was not uncommon during the time of Christian. Two Roman soldiers such as St. Bacchus and St. Serge were regarded as husband and wife. For most of the people in Christians, the legality of gay marriage is accepted and regarded as part of life. Since the year 1989, the marriage has been strengthening due to the legalization of Same-Sex marriage. States revels that heterosexual can increase the rate of divorce. It is much less than that of homosexual marriage. The legalization of gay marriage in Scandinavian has provided a message to show that it is acceptable. The revenue generated from marriage licenses can help to benefit the economy of country. The legalization of gay marriage can effectively provide financial gain in revenue to the government. It has been found for New York City, that legalization would bring $142 million to the economy (LaHaye 74). Conclusion This can be concluded that the legalization of gay marriage would not create any adverse effect on the society. As gay couples have every equal right to be loved and cared by their partners. The sexual orientations of homosexual people are congenital and it cannot be changed. Over half of a century, thousands of researcher proved the genetic reason behind the homosexual behavior was solely due to biological causation. Therefore, it is not fair towards gay people to be treated inversely from others due to their sexual orientation.
